MINNEAPOLIS – A Minnesota jury on Monday began deliberating manslaughter charges in the trial against former Minneapolis-area police officer Kim Potter for shooting and killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright in April 2021. The 12-person jury – made up of six men and six women – heard instructions from Judge Regina Chu on Monday morning, followed by the closing arguments from Assistant District Attorney Erin Eldridge, for the prosecution, and defense attorney Earl Gray. The state's rebuttal was presented by prosecutor Matthew Frank. During deliberations, the jury will be sequestered to a local hotel, and will only be allowed to contact family....

Press Rocket button, get mortgage. Press Elie Mystal, get outrage. That's Mystal's shtick, and that's why Cross so frequently has him on her show. He procures airtime by serving as a surefire, professional provocateur, a verbal bomb-thrower par excellence. Introducing him as a "Cross Connection favorite and my pal," Cross invited Mystal to comment on the trial of Kim Potter, the ex-police officer accused of manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright. And Mystal reliably delivered the outrage. A supremely skeptical Mystal rejected Potter's tears during her testimony as phony. He characterized it as: "You are a racist. You killed...

Daunte Wright was 'an arch criminal' whose death at the hands of a white police officer in Minneapolis is being used to push 'false narratives', according to a lawyer representing the victims of two separate shootings the black man is accused of being involved in. Attorney Michael Padden told DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview that the 20-year-old was a 'very serious criminal' who should never have been out on the streets on April 11, the day he was shot dead. Padden is representing two families who have filed separate lawsuits against Wright's estate that allege he was involved in the...

The prosecuting attorney in the Kim Potter case, a former Brooklyn Center officer who discharged a firearm that killed Daunte Wright last month, has resigned from his position. Imran Ali confirmed with KSTP that he has submitted a letter of resignation to Washington County Attorney Pete Orput. His resignation will be effective as of June 17. In the letter, Ali noted the "vitriol" and "partisan politics" as reasons for his decision. "The last several weeks have been difficult for me and my family," Ali stated, in part. "The vitriol from some and the infusion of partisan politics by many has...

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Friday that his office will lead the prosecution of a former suburban police officer who is charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Daunte Wright. Ellison said he is reviewing the case and the evidence against former Brooklyn Center Officer Kim Potter, raising the prospect of bringing murder charges against her. Potter, who is white, fatally shot Wright, a 20-year-old black motorist, on April 11.

America is on the verge of anarchy. Every time police kill a Black man, the community finds itself on the edge and the nation wonders if an inferno is about to erupt. This reality dovetailed with a meme I saw a few days ago: “The Biggest Change Since Rodney King is the Video Quality.” While video quality has improved, one thing that hasn’t changed is negative outcomes from resisting arrest. Some of the names Americans know that demonstrate this include George Floyd, Daunte Wright, Rayshard Brooks, and Michael Brown. If the media were being honest, they would characterize these encounters...

Fresh from the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump for the alleged incitement of the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol, veteran inciter of riots and criminal confrontation, Rep. Maxine Waters of the People’s Republic of California travels to Minnesota where, hypocritically under police escort, she urges rioters to keep on rioting. After all, maybe VP Kamala Harris can set up another fund to bail them out should they be briefly arrested. She is the leaders of the party of riots. As Townhall.com reports: As Katie (Pavlich) reported earlier today, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), a sitting member of Congress, took...

Daunte Wright called his mother moments before he was fatally shot to say police had pulled him over for an air freshener dangling from his rearview mirror, a puzzlingly innocuous offense that nevertheless escalated into a tragic encounter with police.

In another example of the Democrats’ support of political violence, Representative Maxine Waters (D-California) incited a violent mob in Minnesota yesterday to not to accept anything other than a guilty verdict for Derek Chauvin, the Minneapolis police officer on trial for the death of Daunte Wright. Just one day after the week long protests descended into violence, Rep. Waters’ urged protesters at Brooklyn Center to “to get more confrontational.”‘ “I am not happy that we have talked about police reform for so long,” Waters said. “We’re looking for a guilty verdict,'” she added in regards to the Derek Chauvin trial....

California Representative Maxine Waters joined protesters in Minnesota as demonstrations entered a seventh night on Saturday after the death of Daunte Wright. Waters told the protesters at Brooklyn Center that she will fight for justice on their behalf and urged them to 'to get more confrontational' - just one day after protests descended into violence. 'I am not happy that we have talked about police reform for so long,' Waters said. 'We're looking for a guilty verdict,' she added in regards to the Derek Chauvin trial. 'If we don't, we cannot go away.'

One of the very first men canonized by the high priests of the church of BLM was Michael Brown. Described in media reports as a “gentle giant,” and hailed as a promising young man and valuable member of his community, Brown died while assaulting a police officer and trying to take his gun. George Floyd, whose death at the hands of police is being adjudicated as we speak, died while resisting arrest and high on a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl. His rap sheet included the home invasion armed robbery of a woman. Another canonized (though still living) saint, Jacob...

Protesters have gathered Friday outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department for a sixth night after the death of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter fatally shot Wright during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon. Potter has since resigned from the department and has been charged with second-degree manslaughter. 6:00 p.m. A KSTP reporter at the scene estimates 200 people are already outside the Brooklyn Center Police Department. The protesters are up against the fence and chanting, but it has been a peaceful assembly so far. Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott announced this evening that he will change...

America's foremost race-baiter latches onto latest opportunity to distract black voters from the unmitigated carnage Democrats have foisted on generations of urban Americans Barack Obama claimed on Twitter that his “heart is heavy” over the fatal Minneapolis police shooting of Daunte Wright, an unarmed 20-year-old black man who resisted arrest. I’m calling BS on that claim. America’s foremost race-baiter I believe Obama is thrilled every time an unarmed black person is killed by police. Why? Because each such killing is a fresh opportunity for him to advance the obscene narrative that America’s law enforcement community is replete with racist cops...

A police union leader has slammed Brooklyn Center's mayor for 'letting political activists run the show' after a white female cop shot dead a black man in the city. Brian Peters, the head of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, told WCCO-AM radio: 'If I were the mayor, I would not allow the political activists [to] run the show.' Peters claims Mike Elliott - mayor since January 2019 - is in 'way over his head'.

Geraldo Rivera had an extraordinary meltdown during a screaming match with Dan Bongino on Hannity over policing and protests in the wake of the death of Daunte Wright on Wednesday. During the exchange, Rivera called Bongino a 'son of a b***' and a 'punk' after his fellow guest said that Rivera wanted to see the country burn, Mediate noted.
