LOS ANGELES - A Joshua Tree couple were arrested Thursday after allegedly keeping their three children locked in a box for four years, authorities said. San Bernardino County deputies found the children, aged 11,13 and 14, in a plywood box with no electricity or running water on Sun Fair Road in Joshua Tree, according to the Sheriff's Department. Authorities said the box was 20 feet long, 10 feet wide and 4 feet high.

Police in Dallas busted a cockfight in progress on Sunday morning while looking for a stolen car on abandoned property, according to the SPCA of Texas. SPCA of Texas spokeswoman Maura Davies said in a press release that the agency along with the Dallas Police Department seized 48 fighting roosters from an abandoned property in Balch Springs.

Florida wildlife officials and prosecutors have charged three men connected to a video of a shark being dragged behind a speeding boat. A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission news release says 21-year-old Michael Wenzel and 23-year-old Spencer Heintz of Palmetto, along with 28-year-old Robert Lee Benac of Bradenton, each face two felony counts of aggravated animal cruelty. Wenzel and Benac also face a misdemeanor count of illegal method of taking a shark.

A BABY dolphin has died after it was kept out of the water so a mob of tourists could take selfies with it. The tourists dragged the tiny mammal out of the water on Sunday in the seaside city of San Bernardo, south of Buenos Aires, Argentine newspaper La Capital reported. The suffering calf died surrounded by a crowd of people trying to touch it and take selfies with it.
