Former Gawker editor Elizabeth Spiers unloaded in the Nation what may be the most caustic postmortem on Charlie Kirk found anywhere in media so far — comparing the slain Turning Point founder to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbles and labeling Kirk “an unrepentant racist, transphobe, homophobe, and misogynist.” The latter name calling appeared in the lead paragraph alone of the 1000-word essay under the headline: “Charlie Kirk’s Legacy Deserves No Mourning.” Quoting gracious comments by California Gov. Gavin Newsom about the slain father of two, Spiers wrote, “There is no requirement to take part in this whitewashing campaign, and refusing to...

Donald Trump Jr. rebuked the transgender community during the anniversary of 9/11 by comparing them to Al-Qaeda terrorists. The president’s son made his remarks during a Thursday interview on the 'Megyn Kelly Show.' Trump Jr. also claimed transgender individuals are probably responsible for other ‘mass killings’ that the public is not aware of ‘because you’re not allowed to talk about the truth.’ ‘I can’t name, including probably like Al-Qaeda and the Taliban, a group that is more violent per capita than the radical trans moment,’ Trump Jr. told Megyn Kelly. ‘I’m sure people are totally sane after jacking themselves up...

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey excoriated transphobes for tying a mass shooting to their hateful ideology. At a press conference Wednesday about the Annunciation Catholic School shooting Wednesday, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called out groups and individuals for attacking the trans community in the wake of the horrific event. “Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any other community out there has lost their sense of common humanity,” Frey said. “We should not be operating out of a place of hate for anyone. We should be operating from a place of our love for...

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - A bill on transgender athletes now goes to Gov. Jim Pillen’s desk. Wednesday night, state senators voted 33-16 to pass LB89, introduced by Omaha Sen. Kathleen Kauth. The bill was created to restrict trans athletes from participating in sports that align with their gender identity. Earlier this month, when the senators were debating the bill in the second round, lawmakers adopted Ralston Sen. Merv Riepe’s amendment, which removed part of bill that would have banned trans people from being able to use bathrooms that align with their gender identity in schools and state buildings

The U.S. Supreme Court ordered the Maine state legislature to revoke its censure of GOP state representative Laurel Libby on Tuesday. Libby has been censured since Feb. 15 for a social media post that identified a transgender Maine high school athlete who won a girls' pole vault competition. In a 7-2 decision, the court ruled that Libby's entitlement to relief from the censure is "indisputably clear." The GOP lawmaker celebrated the Supreme Court decision in an X post. "This is a victory not just for my constituents, but for the Constitution itself. The Supreme Court has affirmed what should NEVER...

LGBTQ+ news outlet PinkNews reported on season two finalist Tayce's rage expressed through Instagram with posts calling the UK Supreme Court a "POS...

A Nevada college oversight leader is facing calls to resign after referring to trans athletes as 'men masquerading as women.' Patrick Boylan has been slammed for making the comments during a meeting of the Nevada System of Higher Education's Board of Regents on Friday. He said he had 'one simple question' for the athletic directors who were presenting to the board before asking, 'Do we have any men masquerading as women playing in any of our teams and hurting any of the women?'

A camouflage shortage in the Marine Corps will lead to service members wearing less regulated uniforms in the near future. In an Instagram video, Commandant Gen. Eric Smith addressed service members’ concerns over an inability to find and purchase woodland-patterned "cammies" in an ongoing manufacturing shortage. He announced that as the problem continues, local members will be allowed to wear alternate uniforms contrary to Marine standards. "That problem is going to stay with us until the fall of 2024 when the manufacturer can fill the backlog that has been created after COVID. Until that time, local commanders, battalions and squadrons...

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) - Artist Carmen Rose used to perform regularly in Malaysia, until a police raid last year put an end to the veteran drag queen's act and fuelled the fears of the LGBTQ community at a time when Islamists are rapidly gaining political clout. Since the raid, during which several party-goers were arrested, Rose has stopped doing shows, and rarely ventures out in public in costume. "It's always a risk going out in drag. If there was a raid, who do we call? Do we bring our boy clothes just in case?" said Rose, who declined to disclose...

Conducted by Gallup from June 1-22, the survey found that over the past five years, an increasing percentage of Americans are now “less likely” to voice “a great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the U.S. military. A daring and touching portrait of four kids chasing freedom and friendship through the art of drag. As an art form, drag has always been about breaking down barriers, exploring new territory and daring to do the unexpected. And now, a new type of queen is emerging on the scene: she’s fierce, she’s living in a time of unprecedented access to queer culture and she’s younger than ever before. She’s a drag kid, and she’s a long way from the era of the queens who took part in the Stonewall riots nearly 50 years ago. Stephan, Nemis, Bracken and Jason...

Men who identify as women will be barred from competing with women in high school sports in Wyoming under the new legislation. Though Gov. Mark Gordon (R-WY) did not sign the bill, he did not veto it either and instead allowed it to pass without his signature. However, Gordon did write a letter to Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray in which he described the legislation as “discriminatory” and “overly draconian,” while also claiming that it “pays little attention to fundamental principles of equality.” Gov. Mark Gordon (R-WY)... RELATED: Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin Tells Trans Student ‘Not Fair’ For ‘Biological...

"RuPaul's Drag Race" star Jinkx Monsoon doubled down on her denouncement of the Republican-led legislative push to restrict drag performances, in an interview that aired Friday on MSNBC's "The 11th Hour With Stephanie Ruhle." “What I want to say to the people trying to oppress my community right now, is look what’s happened every time you’ve tried to oppress a community in America,” Monsoon told Ruhle. “You tried to oppress women, women got the vote. You tried to oppress people of color, we’re not accepting that anymore.” She added, "We’re not accepting that some citizens just have to sit on...

Experts are urging caution in the use of life-changing medical treatment for children and adolescents In 2013, the number of children treated annually at the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital gender clinic at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland was 16. In 2021, the number was 724 – a rise of about 4500 percent. This is far from unusual. Across the United States and Europe, the number of children and adolescents with gender dysphoria is exploding. No one really knows why. But many specialised gender clinics are offering them life-changing medical treatment – puberty blockers, sex change hormones, and even “gender...
