SALT LAKE CITY (KTSU) - A Salt Lake woman was arrested on attempted homicide charges after police said she tried to kill a man with a samurai sword. Officers said 25-year-old Tasha Davis was arguing with a neighbor when things quickly escalated. According to police, Davis went to her apartment and returned wielding a 27-inch samurai sword. Police said Davis attacked the victim, repeatedly swinging the long blade at him.

A woman who was found not guilty of murdering her husband in Palm Beach County 22 years ago has now been convicted of trying to kill her son in Las Vegas, prosecutors there said Wednesday. Authorities say a woman drove around with a mummified corpse for about ten months before the body was discovered by police. Officers made the gruesome discovery on Monday while responding to a report of an illegally parked car. Police say the woman tried to cover the remains with pieces of clothing. The car was blocking a driveway in the 2000 block of Tustin Avenue in Costa Mesa. Pima County Sheriff's investigators have charged three people with a May 30 home invasion that left a father and 9-year-old girl dead. Shawna Forde, Jason Eugene Bush and Albert Robert Gaxiola face murder, burglary and aggravated assault charges. Investigators say the suspects broke into a home in Arivaca, shooting and killing 29-year old Raul Flores and his daughter Brisenia. The child's mother was also wounded, but was able to return gunfire. Detectives believe the suspects were after money and drugs. Authorities say Raul Flores had drug connections.
