<p>Last week, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins was invited to be on "Face the Nation." What was supposed to be a cordial conversation about the Supreme Court and same-sex marriage turned out to be a professional ambush.</p>
<p>Host Bob Schieffer pounced on the Family Research Council, calling them an anti-gay hate group. He was using discredited intelligence from the Southern Poverty Law Center. It was an ugly interview.</p>

CBS News 60 Minutes correspondent Lara Logan is back in the hospital in Washington, D.C., due to years-long complications stemming from the brutal sexual assault she endured in Egypt while covering the Arab Spring in early 2011, several sources close to her—including one family friend who went on the record—confirmed to Breitbart News on Monday evening. A 60 Minutes spokesman also confirmed to Breitbart News late Monday that Logan was in fact hospitalized.“Very few people know how stoic and incredibly tough this lady is. In spite of everything she’s had to face in the last two years, people have no idea the...

60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon died Wednesday evening in a car accident in New York. The CBS newsman was riding in a livery cab that struck another car and then crashed into a median on the West Side Highway, his network confirmed. Simon, the recipient of 24 Emmy awards, began regularly contributing to the Sunday-night newsmagazine in 1996. He also was a correspondent for 60 Minutes II; when that series wrapped in 2005, he worked full-time on 60 Minutes.

Of the three morning shows on Saturday, only CBS covered the latest on the evolving Brian Williams scandal. Predictably, NBC’s Today again stayed silent. But so did ABC’s Good Morning America. CBS This Morning anchor Anthony Mason noted, “The New York Times reports NBC News is launching an internal investigation into the reporting of anchorman Brian Williams.” Mason then downplayed the extent of Williams’s lie: “The inquiry follows Williams' on-air apology that he misled viewers when describing a helicopter ride he took when reporting from Iraq in 2003.” Saying the Nightly News anchor “misled viewers when describing a helicopter ride”...

The Manhattan mistress of married “60 Minutes’’ newsman Steve Kroft sent him sexy lingerie photos during their affair, but he insisted she dress low-key — like “Laura Bush” — with him in public to keep things hush-hush, according to newly revealed texts. A source close to Kroft’s lover told The Post that the TV hotshot was “really paranoid about right-wing zealots” finding out about their affair and using the tawdry details to try to destroy his career and CBS. [Snip] Kroft was proud to boast to Goines about his closeness to the leader of the free world — and let...

Here’s a story you won’t see on “60 Minutes.” Veteran TV-news correspondent Steve Kroft enjoyed a string of hotel hookups with a sexy New York City lawyer, getting his kink on with the aid of Viagra and racy text messages — including one in which he told his lover he “would rather be eating your pudding,” according to a new report from the National Enquirer, which hits newsstands Wednesday. The married CBS newsman — who once famously confronted Bill Clinton over the then-Arkansas governor’s rumored womanizing — convinced Harvard-educated Lisan Goines that he was trapped in a sexless marriage with...

Judicial Watch reports that the Obama administration has turned over about 42,000 pages of documents related to the Fast and Furious scandal. The administration was forced to turn the documents over to Judicial Watch in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. Judicial Watch is posting them on its web site. The administration turned them over on November 18, 2014. One of the documents provides smoking gun proof that the Obama White House and the Eric Holder Justice Department colluded to get CBS News to block reporter Sharyl Attkisson. Attkisson was one of the few mainstream media reporters who paid any...

On the Sunday before the election, CBS "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer unloaded one of those pompously "progressive" end-of-show commentaries about how our democracy is being ruined by money. "The right to vote is our proudest possession, but the way it has become debased by money shames us all." He claimed "Congress hasn't done anything in years, yet these midterm elections will be the most expensive in history, just like the last one -- $4 billion this time around. That's billion with a B," he lamented. On one level, he is correct. Special interests are purchasing candidates right and...

Sharyl Attkisson used to be an investigative journalist for CBS News, but now finds herself making headlines as the whistleblower who blew the lid off CBS's blatant bias toward the president and his administration. ... Attkisson exposes outright political corruption, and the media circus surrounding the Obama Administration; the constant praise and fawning over the president, the political bent on stories, and the decision to air “softer” news versus hard-hitting investigative reports that could potentially show the Obama Administration in bad light. Attkisson cites many examples of liberal media bias in Stonewalled. When asking follow-up questions on scandals such as...

NEW YORK – Robert Redford will play Dan Rather in a film about the former CBS anchor’s disputed report about President George W. Bush’s National Guard service. The film, titled Truth, will be adapted from the memoir Truth And Duty: The Press, the President, and the Privilege of Power by former CBS producer Mary Mapes, said the production company, Mythology Entertainment. Cate Blanchett is signed on to play Mapes. If you followed the 2004 presidential campaign, you probably recall the “disputed” 60 Minutes report claiming that George W. Bush shirked his duties and failed to follow orders as a young...

James Vanderbilt's Truth, the high-profile movie chronicling the scandal that derailed Dan Rather's career, has gotten the greenlight to begin shooting this fall. Brett Ratner's RatPac Entertainment and Echo Lake Entertainment will finance the movie, starring Robert Redford as the iconic news anchor and Cate Blanchett as Mary Mapes, Rather's producer. At the same time, FilmNation has come aboard to represent international rights and will pre-sell the project to foreign buyers at the Toronto Film Festival, which kicks off Thursday night (based on the cast, it's sure to whet appetites). Mythology Entertainment is the driving force behind Truth, which was...

No president ever enjoys a carefree vacation. Global hot spots and domestic problems frequently intrude. That's unquestionably true this year, as President Obama spends downtime on Martha's Vineyard. Through it all though, Mr. Obama,

HRABOVE: Armed rebels forced emergency workers to hand over all 196 bodies recovered from the Malaysia Airlines crash site and then had them loaded onto refrigerated train cars bound for a rebel-held city, Ukrainian officials and monitors said on Sunday.... Nataliya Khuruzhaya, a duty officer at the train station in Torez, 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the crash site, said she saw emergency workers loading plane victims' bodies on Sunday morning into five sealed, refrigerated train cars. She said the train was scheduled to head to the town of Ilovaysk, 35 kilometers (22 miles) further east toward the Russian border,...

Secretary of State John Kerry appeared on multiple political talk shows on Sunday to make the administration's case on the conflict in Ukraine. The downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, he said on "Fox News Sunday," was a "moment of truth" for Russia in which Russian President Vladimir Putin needed to "exert all of the influences they have" to protect the integrity of an investigation into what happened.

Full Title: Katie Couric felt ‘pummeled’ at CBS News, resented by coworkers for $15M salary and unfriendly personality: new book In excerpts of Sheila Weller’s highly anticipated book ‘The News Sorority’ obtained by the Daily News, resentment towards Katie Couric was immediate upon her arrival to CBS News. According to Weller, Couric compared herself to Hillary Clinton, received a large salary while others were asked to take pay cuts, and failed to make friends with former CBS staffers who described her as abrasive. Poor Katie — get her some Kleenex and a wrinkle-free pantsuit. TV star Katie Couric took such...

FULL TITLE: Ben Rhodes’s brother, the day after Benghazi: The government thinks this could be a coordinated attack, not a video protest Ben Rhodes’s brother is of course David Rhodes, the president of CBS News — although, if you’re a CBS viewer, maybe I shouldn’t assume that you know that. Anyway, a nifty catch here by John Sexton of Breitbart. The key bit comes 50 seconds in. Quote: “Our government thinks that, you know, there’s a really good chance this was not just a spontaneous mob reaction to what some thought was an offensive film but actually a coordinated effort...

Newly released emails on the Benghazi terror attack suggest a senior White House aide played a central role in preparing former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice for her controversial Sunday show appearances -- where she wrongly blamed protests over an Internet video. More than 100 pages of documents were released to the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. Among them was a Sept. 14, 2012, email from Ben Rhodes, an assistant to the president and deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The Rhodes email, with the subject line: "RE: PREP Call with...

Original Title:Here’s What CBS Had to Say in Response to Sharyl Attkisson’s Claims About Network’s Reporting Bias CBS News on Monday responded to its former employee Sharyl Attkisson’s claims that the network indirectly discouraged her from doing investigative reporting critical of the Obama administration. Attkisson reported extensively on Benghazi and the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal. The ex-CBS reporter later revealed that she didn’t run into the same roadblocks while reporting on issues that hurt former President George W. Bush. She blamed a lot of the bias problems on special and corporate interests. n response to Attkisson’s public comments, CBS...

The liberal media and conservative outlets are highlighting former CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson’s speculation that Media Matters for America is being paid to attack her reporting that was perceived as critical of the Obama administration. That’s a dog bites man story. Of course the Democratic Party front group is paid to attack reporters and media outlets that critically report on President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. What stood out in Attkisson’s comments about Media Matters, made in an interview with Brian Stelter on CNN’s Reliable Sources that was broadcast on Sunday, was the revelation that Media Matters helps...
