Detectives are investigating the discovery of two bodies in the Santa Cruz Mountains as a double homicide, officials said. The bodies were found Monday in an abandoned truck parked on Highway 35 near Oak Ridge Road, Andrew Barclay, a spokesperson for CHP, told SFGATE. The section of Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard, is in a secluded area about 3 miles from Castle Rock State Park, a popular hiking destination. Detectives on Tuesday were trying to solve a mystery after two bodies were found in the back of an abandoned pickup truck in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The discovery was made along Highway 35/Skyline Boulevard, three miles south of Castle Rock State Park. In a statement, the California Highway Patrol said this is an active and ongoing investigation, adding that "two deceased individuals were located in a vehicle…As the deaths were not witnessed, they are coded as suspicious until a coroner can confirm cause and manner of death." Castle Rock, Colorado sits on the urban corridor from Denver to Colorado Springs.  It is primarily a bedroom community to Denver that has had explosive growth in the last 30 years, form 3,921 in 1980 to 51,348 in 2012. A controversial gun policy at an apartment complex for seniors has been thrown out after a 9Wants to Know report. The Douglas County Housing Partnership, a multi-jurisdictional housing authority, held an emergency board of directors meeting late Wednesday afternoon. Renters at an apartment community just south of Denver are between a rock and a hard place, ordered by their landlord to either get rid of their weapons or move out. The wife had jury duty at the Douglas County courthouse in Castle Rock, Colorado yesterday. She found they, too, now have the backscatter nude imaging machines, and they are mandatory. So, to excercise our constitutional rights to the courts or to appear as mandated by the court we must submit to a strip search and radiation. According to the TSA web site, these machines are also in other courthouses throughout the country. Just thought you should know.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that police cannot be sued for how they enforce restraining orders, ending a lawsuit by a Colorado woman who claimed police did not do enough to prevent her estranged husband from killing her three young daughters. . .
