Back in the early ‘70’s there were gas pumps that could not show a price of gas over about 40 cents a gallon.
So they set the pump price at half price. If you’re bill at the pump showed $7 due then you paid $14.
MANY years ago one writer said this about Pete Rose:
‘The baseball HOF is for really good baseball players. Heaven is for really good people.’
Now we are at a point where we conflate the heck out of these two very different criteria. My opinion is that conflating these two standards should be at least as controversial as the sins of these ball players that can’t get in.
