While watching TV this morning, I was a witness to an attempted murder. This attempt took place on 5th Avenue in New York City, and was conducted by “peace protesters”. These ‘protesters’ had lay down in front of oncoming traffic during the late rush hour. The traffic was stopped for about an hour while police cleared the roadway of the ‘protesters’. The protesters call this ‘tactic’ a “DIE-IN”.By stopping this traffic, these ‘protesters’ are attempting murder. During rush hour in NYC, there are thousands of doctors and other healthcare workers making their way to hospitals throughout the city. By being...

Victory smiles upon those who anticipate the changes in the character of war, not upon those who wait to adapt themselves after changes occur."—Guilio Douhet When the bombs fell on Pearl Harbor in 1941, they shattered more than the silence of a peaceful Sunday morning; they destroyed the illusion that U.S. military forces were safe at home. During the three-and-a-half years that followed, a world war transformed the U.S. armed forces into a first-rate military. The urgency of fighting a global conflict propelled the genius of Americans to make this transformation a reality. In a similar manner, the events of...

ONE year ago, the world witnessed a unique kind of broadcasting - the mass murder of thousands, live on television. As a lesson in the pitiless cruelty of the human race, September 11 was up there with Pol Pot's mountain of skulls in Cambodia, or the skeletal bodies stacked like garbage in the Nazi concentration camps. An unspeakable act so cruel, so calculated and so utterly merciless that surely the world could agree on one thing - nobody deserves this fate. Surely there could be consensus: the victims were truly innocent, the perpetrators truly evil. But to the world's eternal...

TEHRAN - Arab men are going wild over an outrageous new entertainment craze that's taken this city by storm - wet burqa contests! Drooling, cheering men are packing makeshift nightclubs where shapely gals get hosed down while wearing the burqa - which clings to every curve and corner of their bodies even though they're wearing a garment designed for the ultimate in modesty. Modeled after the wet T-shirt contests that show off America's most buxom young beauties, the burqa competitions award cash prizes in categories including Best Breasts and Butt. "No one ever said a woman in a burqa couldn't...
  • Schröder is trounced! (He's on his way out folks)

The party of German leader Gerhard Schröder lost hugely in two state elections this week, in what the chancellor called “one of the most bitter defeats I have known.” Schröder’s Social Democrats lost dozens of seats in Hesse and in his home state of Lower Saxony to the center-right Christian Democrats. The chancellor was narrowly re-elected four months ago on a platform of opposition to the war in Iraq, but his popularity has been plummeting—along with the economy—ever since. German unemployment stands at 8.5 percent, and Schröder has already broken his campaign promise not to raise taxes. “If this doesn’t...

Eisenhower once warned against the "miltary-industrial complex". "In 1955, military spending represented 62% of the [US] federal budget. Payments to individuals, such as Social Security and Medicare, accounted for [only] 21%. In 2001 the figures were reversed: defense, 17%; payments to individuals, 61%"

PARIS -- Iraqi strongman Saddam Hussein has split from his longtime gay lover after a bitter public spat -- and now the flamboyant dictator's ex-boyfriend is telling all the juicy details of the breakup! "Saddam treated me like dirt," angry Terry Hammell, now 36, said in a world-exclusive interview. "He used me as a sexual plaything for years and then, when he decided I was getting too old, he tossed me aside like some used Kleenex. He just broke my heart." Spurned Terry cataloged his much-older lover's misdeeds, claiming that Saddam: Forced him to dress up for bizarre "role play"...

Europeans hate us? Next time you’re overseas keeping their second-rate economies afloat with good ol’ U.S. greenbacks, give ’em something to whine about. Maxim, February 2003 Condescending Frogs; scheming Krauts; bottle-wielding, snaggle-toothed Brits. For some reason our “allies” in Western Europe see fit to perceive us as arrogant, self-indulgent, and hypocritical. Losers! We’re sick of their inferiority complex—why can’t they just accept their inferiority? Evidently, somebody’s forgotten who gave the world Baywatch. To try to smooth things over, the White House has created the Office of Global Communications to shine up our image with our fair-weather foreign friends. But who...

Hundreds of Pakistanis and other immigrants have slipped into Canada from the U.S. to avoid having to register with U.S. authorities. Men from 25 countries that are labeled as security threats who are living as visitors in the U.S. must register with immigration officials by Feb. 21. Since the program began in December, hundreds of illegal immigrants have been arrested when they’ve shown up to comply. Those detained face near certain deportation, so many families have decided to run. In Canada, most are requesting political asylum, which is typically granted to 54 percent of applicants. “Everybody doesn’t get luck in...

A German court forbade a British tabloid this week from printing any more stories alleging that German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder is having an affair with a TV personality. But after British legal experts concluded that E.U. law gives the court no jurisdiction in Britain, the Mail on Sunday gleefully repeated its story. Schröder said he would consider other action to counter the “lies.” Unlike the British press, which tends to print any and all gossip about political figures, Germany’s newspapers follow strict privacy laws, and German voters are generally uninterested in their leaders’ love lives. But Schröder’s private life is...
