Tourism Australia has released a new advertising campaign to attract tourists to Australia. While shorter versions of this new video appear on TV, the above link has the full version of this video, coming in at almost 3 minutes. While some of the things in the ad may be readily recognised, others may not, so I have also included some text, describing those things.

With so much information about Climate Science, are we really get the full information, or just parts of it that leave out other aspects of what we are told is the 'Great Debate' of our time. The Australian Government, the Labor Party, has recently decided to change Australian legislation to approve the sale of Australian mined Uranium to India for use in Nuclear power plants. That decision was based on the fact that India needs to lower its emissions of CO2. However, the more important decision, whether or not to use that same Uranium for Nuclear power plants here in Australia was not even discussed. This analysis of data collected over 12 months proves conclusively that with this mad rush to construction and use or renewable power, emissions of CO2 are in fact increasing, which is the opposite of what we are told will happen. Total electrical power consumption increased by 4.7%, and yet CO2 emissions increased by 7%, in both the coal fired sector, and the natural gas fired sector as well. With the huge ramping up in construction of wind plants, renewable power only increased from 1.89% to 2.32%. Emissions rose by 201 million tons to 3.27 Billion tons.

This radiation dose chart places into perspective some of the doses you may, or may not be exposed to, and it covers nearly every arising. It shows that the EPA has a maximum limit of one milliSievert per year, and that's one thousandth of a Sievert. This is the most recent UPDATE and it will be the last update for information about this huge Cyclone that impacted North Queensland in Australia. While there is damage to thousands of homes, the main damage is to the Banana plantations, and this area grows and supplies 90% of Australia's bananas. The Cyclone is now almost 250 miles inland from Cairns, and moving towards Mount Isa. So far, the most thankful thing is that there have been no reported casualties. Damage however, is horrendous.

Tropical Cyclone Yasi came ashore at Mission Beach around midnight. As dawn breaks, people are just beginning to see those scenes of devastation, especially at Tully, and Cardwell, both close to Mission beach. It's still early days yet, and reports are only beginning to filter in. Cairns and Innisfail were spared the worst of it, but are still in danger from the storm surge on the morning high tide. Townsville to the South has been flooded with almost feet of rain. The Cyclone is now nearly 150 miles inland, and has been downgraded to a Category 2 System

This is the most recent UPDATE for this Post. Major Category 5 Tropical Cyclone Yasi crossed the Queensland coastline at Mission beach, around 20 miles south of Innisfail, and 65 miles South of Cairns at midnight. Winds at the core of the Cyclone, now intensely worse than Hurricane Katrina, are around 190MPH. Reports coming from the area are sketchy, and not much will be seen or known until the morning. This cyclone is now infinitely worse even than Hurricane Katrina in every respect. One link shows an overlay of this Cyclone over Continental U.S. and it covers virtually the whole of the U.S. There is also a link to live radio coverage from the affected area, now extending along a 1500 mile stretch of the Queensland Coastline. This Post has the latest UPDATE for this monster Cyclone. Tropical Cyclone Yasi has been upgraded to Severe Category 5 with winds at the centre in the vicinity of 200 MPH. This now places this storm on the same scale as for Hurricane Katrina.It will impact the Queensland Coastline near Cairns, a major city of 125,000 people, and in Townsville to the South, 60,000 people are being evacuated from there as well. It is expected to make landfall at around 10PM tonight, Wednesday Australian time, and because of its size, will saty as a major Cyclone for almost 2 days....

This is the latest UPDATE on this super Cyclone heading for Cairns, a city with a population of around 130,000. There is an image at the Post comparing some large and damaging storms, and this Cyclone Yasi bears remarkable similarities in nearly every respect with Hurricane Katrina, except Yasi will pack more than three times the rain (around 40 inches in this case with Yasi) that was associated with Katrina, and Yasi will have approximately the same storm surge, around 23 feet. A monster Cyclone (named Cyclone Yasi) is currently heading towards the State of Queensland in Australia. Queensland is only just recovering from recent flooding across most of this huge State. This monster cyclone is similar in size and scope to Hurricane Katrina, and there are very grave fears for what might may happen when this huge System makes landfall, on early Thursday morning, in an area south of Cairns. During the State of the Union address, the President called for Americans to have 80% of all electrical power being generated from Renewable sources by 2035. Despite being a physical impossibility to actually do this, the cost is astronomical, $6 Trillion. Renewables, at best might be able to supply power for 6 to 8 hours a day, and, right now, if 65% of all electrical power in the U.S. is required 24/7/365, then this 'Sputnik Moment' for the President becomes not just a dream, but a nightmare of truly disastrous proportions. This has the latest UPDATE of the ongoing major flood crisis in Australia, now certainly the worst natural disaster in our history. The projected cost has been roughly calculated at around $12 Billion, but that would be the lowest starting point. This is the latest UPDATE from a continuing Post about this flood disaster in Australia. The flood crisis in Brisbane has eased, and the clean up is well under way now, although the task is huge. Now those flooding rains have caused rivers in the State of Victoria to rise to historically high levels. 34 towns are affected by rising flood waters.
