Also, I want my money back with interest/inflation adjustments for the inferior, defective garbage that I had to buy over the last two decades, and then had to throw out when they broke/stopped working prematurely.
“That is a leftist lie, unlike WWII, Vietnam was fought by volunteers, not draftees, and the draft had been going on continuously and ran from about 1940-1973 and military age black males were actually underrepresented in Vietnam war casualties.”
Sorry, but I know a good number of people who would differ with your opinion from their experience. Draftees did get “cannon fodder” assignments. That’s why without a deferment, you were better off volunteering.
“I was born in 1960 which by most reckoning makes me a “boomer” but I have little in common with those born ten years earlier.”
I am a late-ish boomer and feel the same way. Things were starting to go to hell in the US when I was in my teens. My cohorts feel the same way and look at our grade school era as idyllic. Of course, no one was shooting at us...American or Vietnamese.
What really went wrong in the 1960’s was when colleges dropped down their admission requirements so that anyone with a pulse and some money could get in. This left a lot of less wealthy, poor, and black students to get drafted and then have their a**es shot off. It was really evil and that’s why you see older boomer idiots.
I’m waiting for some of this stuff to show up on eBay. I’m willing to pay 5% of original price - I’ve already paid full price for this once. But I’ll bet shipping is brutal. And then who knows what the tarriffs might be.
