News Flash. In Genesis, when God called the end of the first creation period ‘The First Day’... The Earth wasn’t even revolving around the Sun yet... so God OBVIOUSLY was NOT using a 24hr revolution of the earth of ‘Day’ It was obviously a period of creation.

Also, if Baptism us described as a rebirth, in symbolism... then Why can’t the seven creation periods be symbolized by days of the week?

God used symbols to teach primitive mankind. It wasn’t that Mankind wasn’t smart enough ... its simply that mankind hadnt assembled the building blocks of knowledge for a more precise detailed description from God.

... also, I think that we need to accept that the Bible is NOT free from human error in the reciept of wisdom from God. the understanding of that wisdom, the transmission and the translation of that wisdom.

Nothing that mankind has ever touched is perfect. God is perfect ... mankind and all that he does is imperfect.

As a Christian, I have no problem with an old earth in Genesis.

It appears clear to me that God was using the term ‘Day’ in Genisis as a metaphor for a phase rather than a 24 hr period where the earth makes a 360deg revolution.

In fact, as I recall, the earth doesn’t even make a revolution in its journey around the sun until day two or three. Consequently, the term ‘day’ must be a metaphor

It was an imperfect document brooded over by a committee. In fact, Emperor Constantine was the one who dictated the ‘Homousios’ portion of the ‘Nicene Creed’ while still a pagan.

When Constantine became a Christian he accepted baptism from a Semi-Arian Bishop Eusibius of Nicodemia.

So when was Constantine right? When he was a Pagan? ...or when he was a Christian?

You actually believe that hundreds of imperfect men through a 2,000 year timeline have the ability to communication, transcribe and translation perfectly without the slightest error?

Please, a little common sense is necessary here. The Bible is the Word of God... but the Bible was written by how many participants including prophets, scribes, copiers and translators? a hundred? .... two hundred? ...three hundred?

Revelation/Inspiration flows from God perfectly, but man’s ability to communicate that and transmit that knowledge is imperfect.

I fail to understand our National strategic interest in Ukraine. Is it to protect Ukraine? If so ... why? ... do we have to protect every nation? Is it regime change in Russia? Is that our responsibility?

I do highly fault President Biden for the situation in Ukraine.

First, Biden’s pathetic response to a news reporters questions prior to the invasion: “It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and we end up having to fight about what to do and not do...”

Many believe that Biden’s statement telegraphed apathy towards Russian Ukrainian aggression ... and may have influenced Putin’s decision to invade.

Secondly, Biden’s seemingly flip-flop from apathy to his vow to support Ukraine “...as long as it takes” against Russia, seems to give US support to Ukraine for never-ending, escalating war with Russia.

Sadly I believe that Biden’s statesmanship flops very well may have leaded to the initial Russian invasion of Ukraine, and trapped an American financed Ukraine into a prolonged war that cannot be won.

My opinion is that President Joe Biden should go down as perhaps one of the worse US statesman in history!

I think it is likely the LDS Church is trying to be engaging rather than judgemental.

Their motivation is christian missionary work.

If you want to condemn a church for seeking missionary work in a communist country ... than I believe that you inadvertently condemn Christ himself, as he taught us to love one another as ourselves ...

... which I’m pretty sure is regardless of age, color, sex ... or country.
