Haven't posted here in a long while. I got a call from Dad yesterday that Mom has a mild case of pneumonia. Mild though, is a relative term. Mom is 74 years old, and had 2/3rds of her right lung removed about 12 years ago due to lung cancer. I spoke with Dad earlier today, and he advised that she had a rough night, but seems to be slightly improved. If you would, please keep my Mom in your prayers. We would all appreciate it.

Greetings! An acquaintance of mine is going to be going to Las Vegas with a group of friends for the first time. I was stationed there from 84-94, and have been back once or twice since then. I told her that the best places in Las Vegas are the places that aren't on the strip. Not the big houses, but the mom and pop places out there. Now, I need recommendations from the folks on scene. Food, shows, places to go, things to see and do - off the beaten track and away from all the big touristy stuff.

Wow. Had a doctor's appointment last week for a completely different issue. First thing the doc says is, "the weight loss is great!" That's when I explained that the 30-35 pounds I had lost had all been in the last month or so. That I was constantly thirsty, and "peeing like a race horse." That's when the original reason for the appointment got pushed to the back and that's when life changed. Good morning! My family (myself, my wife, and our 16 year old and 14 month old) have been presented with the opportunity to adopt a Boxer. His owner is being relocated and cannot take him with her. He's three years old, gets along with small animals, which is good seeing as we have two cats, and a Sheltie. I've read about them quite a bit, and have been around a couple of them. In a previous thread, I told you about Lucas, the six year old son of my wife's co-worker Mark. Lucas had a good MRI, and they have scheduled surgery for him on Monday. It's an excellent hospital, and an excellent surgeon. Please pray for Lucas, his mom and dad - Laura and Mark, and his sister Grace. Please also, keep the surgeon and his team in your prayers as well.

A little over 13 months ago, I was posting on here about the birth of our daughter, Kayleigh. I haven't done a real good job of keeping things updated, but today was a major milestone. We've been walking by holding hands, and standing alone for 20-30 seconds before crashing down. Today, though, we're walking on our own.

My wife's coworker recently posted a message about an MRI his six year old son recently underwent. Lucas has been having headaches for a while, and the doctor ordered an MRI to see what was going on. HARRIMAN — A retention pond wall collapsed early this morning at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Kingston steam plant, releasing a mixture of water and fly ash that flooded nearly a dozen homes and caused a train wreck. OLIVER SPRINGS, TN -- Firefighters at the site of an oil well fire in Oliver Springs expect the fire to burn for a few more days before it is extinguished.
