I agree. Saying that the files are gone is ridiculous. Valuable blackmail material doesn’t get destroyed—and you know Epstein wasn’t the “end user” of that material, so it surely was shared with those he worked for. I can totally believe that whatever copies were in possession of the U.S. government have been destroyed, but you know they didn’t have everything or every copy.
