Owner thinks his restaurant was targeted in machete attack

COLUMBUS (WCMH)- Hany Baransi was at home Thursday night when he got a message from one of his cooks that a man with a machete was in his restaurant. Baransi, the owner of Nazareth Restaurant and Deli, rush backed to work. Employees told me he came in and looked around, asked where I was from, what food we have, where was I," said Baransi. The question everyone continues to ask is "Why?" The business owner is from Israel, and has his native country's flag right next to the American flag. When asked if he felt he was targeted, he said...

"Sucking the air out of the room". Sorry for the vanity... Havent made a thread in a long time. Have heard that over and over and I'm struggling to figure out what that means. Anything I come up with comes around to only being a positive answer regarding Sarah Palin. Some of these answers are that people want to hear from her. The media trips over themselves to interview her. The media looks for every way possible to trip her up only allowing her to get her message out. Am I missing something here? What else is "sucking the air...

No need to leave freerepublic! Step One:Greasemonkey Addon for Firefox Step Two:smith288's Youtube embed script I wont provide much support but it's really easy to use.
T. Boone Pickens, Scam Artist, Given Eminent Domain Authority in Texas!By Cary Wesberry • August 2, 2008 All-around jerk T. Boone Pickens has managed to swindle Texas into giving him eminent domain powers. The State Legislature changed State Law allowing two residents in Roberts County to vote and create a municipal water district, thereby giving them the power to confiscate private property. The two voters were Pickens’ wife and manager of his ranch. Regardless of T. Boone Pickens, those responsible for this abomination in my State Legislature need to be held responsible for their probable criminal activity in working behind the backs of the People...

Editor's Note: This story appears in the July 16 edition of ESPN The Magazine, on sale beginning July 4. To let you know how far I've come, let me tell you where I've been. Not that long ago, there were nights I went to sleep in strange places praying I wouldn't wake up. After another night of bad decisions, I'd lie down with my heart speeding inside my chest like it was about to burst through the skin. My thinking was clouded, and my talent was one day closer to being totally wasted. I prayed to be spared another...

Bonds is wrong to wear No. 42 By Jeff PearlmanSpecial to Page 2On Feb. 7, President Bush took a trip to Shenandoah National Park, where he dressed up in earth tones, stood before some trees and held a news conference to announce an increase in the National Park Service's budget. It was a glorious time for all. Tony Snow, the White House press secretary, boasted that the president was "keenly committed both to environmentalism and conservationism from the start." Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne went one step further, likening Bush to Teddy Roosevelt.Yes, that Teddy Roosevelt.Of course, by now all noncomatose...

GOP.com emailed me telling me of wrong polling location

I was given an email telling me that my polling location is likely incorrect to which it directed me to GOP.com's website and I searched my address. Im not indicting GOP.com of trying to mess up voting but im pretty sure they are basing their polling location search on distance from nearest polling location which is INCORRECT. My location is dictated by my township not distance from polling station. My polling location was correctly listed on the Ohio SOS website but im alarmed at the GOP's own website telling GOP members of wrong polling locations.

Microsoft Update - Internet Explorer security fix

Before all you anti-MS fanboys attack my setup let me first say I am an ASP/VB web developer for an online company and require IE and MS so save the firefox/mac posts for another day. On to the problem at hand... I got the automatic update last night on my XP pro system and now my IE acts very odd. It seems to open fine but it always opens a new window no matter how I try (ie. type in an addres, using favorites). The original window stays open but it doesnt allow any interaction with it. If I try...

New Browser Exploit Found (but not on IE)

New Browser Trick FoundUses homograph attack to spoof links As members of our Security forum discuss, a new homograph browser trick (see demo page) has been discovered that oddly works in every browser but IE. The trick uses International Domain Name (IDN) character support (using foreign characters that resemble American alphabet letters) to trick your browser into showing fake domain names in hyperlinks and in the address bar. IE doesn't support IDN (though it can via plug-in), so by default isn't vulnerable. More detail in this advisory from the group that discovered it.
