California’s gain is Texas’ loss. Yah, that’s what
I said and that’s what I meant. California became the
way it is because of the enormous population growth
over a few short decades. And, some of that stemmed
from the fact that the state recruited businesses
from the Northeast and Midwest. Unfortunately IMO
the depopulation of my home state won’t convince
us to return to simpler, less regulated times.

One of the historic attributes of California is
that it was populated by those with a “live and
let live” attitude. The problems arose when the
the Democrats became the “live and make others
live like you” party.

The only thing that really bothers me about the hatred
spewed by lefty celebrities toward Rush Limbaugh is
that I know that I will never be famous enough for
those same scumbags to throw that kind of shade at
me. To be treated like that by those shitbirds would
truly be an honor.

The thing is we choose to love the love the

I’m a Rush listener since 1985 when his show
was only in Sacramento.If you knew Rush that long
you knew that his “....on loan from God” comment
was applicable to all of us in his mind. But
your words I take to heart.

I started listening to Rush in 1985 when his
KFBK show in Sacramento was it. What you state
was just as true then as it has been throughout
his talkshow career. Yes, no doubt Limbaugh did
convert many people. But his original personna
mainly sustained and confirmed what we conservatives
always believed anyway. To learn that so many
others were in step with each other was a gift
from Rush.

An M1 Carbine story: Back in the 1980s my parents
traveled from NorCal to Anaheim to attend an 11th
Airborne Div Association reunion. My dad was an
original 11th AB “Angel”. My sister lived in Burbank
at the time and visited my folks at the reunion hotel.
Sis and mom were enjoying a conversation with other
wives in the lobby when a message came over the PA
system regarding the purchase of raffle tickets. The
prize was a commemorative M1 carbine manufactured by
Iver Johnson which, BTW, had NOT produced that model
for WWII. Anyway, my mom and the other wives found
humor in the prospect that one of the elderly
paratrooper “boys” could be lurking around the hotel
with a WWII firearm. As it turned out the winner of
the carbine was my dad. The joke was on my mom.
I inherited the gold trimmed carbine from my dad
and it still has never been fired.

I actually knew General Yeager. We are both members
of the Nevada County Sportsmens Club which is on
the outskirts of Nevada City, Ca. His first wife,
Glennis, grew up in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area
which is what brought him to the area originally.
Our club has a rifle/pistol range, a trap range
a 5 star archery range, and a kitchen, full bar,
and meeting room building. It may sound like we
are an uppity lot but we are just a working man’s
club with a maximim of 200 members. I paid $300.00
for my membership in ‘87 plus yearly dues and 24
work hours/yr. I think Yeager joined around 1982.

What you posted about Chuck is very possible. I
think he blew hot and cold. On the range he could
be pretty hard-assed if he was crossed but he could
also be a real gentleman and friendly guy, He
once showed me some self-loaded rifle ammo. He
had marked it with an electric pen in writing
so small it seemed like I would need a microscope
to read his writing. But that is what his eyesight
was like and he was in his 70s at the time. He was
never anything but nice to me but there were times
a few other members experienced the hard assed
General Chuck side. He might have liked me because
I used to be on the kitchen crew and we cooked
killer corned beef and cabbage which he said was
his favorite.
