“And we stand ready to work with other arms of the federal government that seek to use their lawful authorities to protect and preserve access to reproductive care. In particular, the FDA has approved the use of the medication Mifepristone. States may not ban Mifepristone based on disagreement with the FDA’s expert judgment about its safety and efficacy. “Furthermore, federal agencies may continue to provide reproductive health services to the extent authorized by federal law. And federal employees who carry out their duties by providing such services must be allowed to do so free from the threat of liability. It...

[...] The first political change came from the left. They embraced gays, knowing full well that most gays aren’t married, don’t have kids, and have consequently more income to spend and tend to do that. Hence, the strange idea that all gays are by definition left-wing oriented. Nothing could be further from the truth. Gays want to be themselves. Nothing more, nothing less. [...] Then we got a new pressure group. The ones with beards and long, very long and extremely sensitive toes. These folks quickly replaced the gays as interest group on the left. First of all, because gays...

Some excerpts: A 110 degree day here in Los Angeles -- I'll tell ya, I was sweating like the Pope visiting Mecca, it was that hot out there... Statement from President Bush "I didn't even know the Pope was Jewish" Iraq has demanded that the pope issue a statement of apology for a statement he made linking Islam to violence. Well where did the Pope get THAT crazy idea from, HUH? I'm STUNNED! Well maybe the apology will stop the church burnings and the...

Media ignore importance of Muslim ties MICHELLE MALKIN Press accounts have downplayed the disruption of terrorist cells on American soil. Oct. 12 marked the fifth anniversary of the bombing of the USS Cole. Seventeen American sailors were killed in the attack. They were casualties of a war with radical Islamic terror that America hadn't yet declared and which the mainstream media still refuse to acknowledge today. Too many of us were blind in 2000 - unable or unwilling or simply too uninterested to connect such blood-stained dots as al-Qaida's 1993 World Trade Center bombing attack, the 1996 Khobar Tower bombings,...

It was only hours after Joel Henry Hinrichs III blew himself up Oct. 1 near 84,000 football fans at the University of Oklahoma when federal officials claimed he was just a troubled young man with no links to terrorists. But then yesterday the U.S. Department of Justice asked a federal court in Oklahoma City to seal the search warrant officials there used to get into the apartment Hinrichs’ shared with three or four students described by neighbors as “Arab-looking men.” If Hinrichs acted alone and had no links to terrorists’ organizations or activities, why seal the search warrant? What did...

Terrorism: Three years ago, we speculated that a deadly shooting at LAX was a terrorist act. But political and cultural sensitivity caused authorities and the media to play down the terror angle. Is this happening again? [snip] But we flashed back to July 4, 2002, when an Egyptian man shot and killed two people and wounded three at an Israeli airline ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport. It took a while before authorities could bring themselves to call it a terrorist act. So far, the big media have laid off Hinrichs' death. Apparently the fact that he was on...

...The energy situation eased for a few days this past week allowing some trucking to pass and our supplies remained at least adequate. Many gas stations were closed for long periods and the trucking situation is precarious. It appears that some substantial damage had occurred in New Orleans to 4 lines of the CSX railroad there and much rail traffic is at best being slowed seriously. By Saturday evening 9/10/2005, the situation on energy supplies has begun to return to critical levels. The damaged areas in Alabama have reached a stable level of recovery on land. The big Yellowhammer plant...
