You forgot that the Russian bots here don’t believe that Ukraine is a legitimate country, thus any Ukrainian military action or resistance against Russia and its blatant aggression, in their twisted minds, are also illegitimate.
I notice that Red Badger refers to Russian airbases and Russian territory as “our airbases” and “our territory.” So it is clear that he is a Russian, not an American.
Actually, if the Ukrainian manage to convince Putin that the cost of his continuing his aggression is too high, it might indeed lead him to be serious about negotiating a settlement.
You were quick to condemn Ukraine for taking military action during peace negotiations, why aren’t you just as willing to condemn Russia for its military actions? Then again, consistency was never your strong suit.
Putin was never interested in a settlement. His goal is, and always was, the complete subjugation of Ukraine. He played Trump for a fool, and Trump has finally come to realize what bad faith Putin has had during Trump’s attempt to find a negotiated settlement and stop the mindless killing that Putin unleashed.

Thank you for your defense. The ad hominem attack by kiryandil is an all too common tactic by the pro-Putin trolls to silence one side of a debate rather than engaging in the substance of their opponents’ comments. It is actually a sign of the weakness of their position. What does my not having posted on FR for an extended period have to with the strength or weakness of my position? Absolutely nothing! My posts hit too close to home, so instead of having an honest debate, they engage in personal attacks. As the saying goes, “If you are taking flak, you are over the target.”
Only if matched by a demilitarized zone of equal depth on the Russian side of the border and limitations on the size of the Russian military. There would then be no need for Ukraine to seek the protection of NATO against Russian aggression. Ukraine has just as much right to security guarantees as does Russia.
Many lives would be saved if only the victims had surrendered to the aggressors. Just imagine the millions of Russian lives that would have been saved it Stalin had surrendered to Hitler.🙄
Spheres of influence is an outdated 19th century concept. Ukraine is a sovereign nation and has the right to decide for itself its geopolitical alignment. Perhaps if Russia was less predatory and more respectful of the sovereignty of its neighbors more nations would voluntarily align with it.
