The Republicans lost. I don't like the message it sends to our enemies but your team cannot win every game.

I just read an article from MSNBC that has a new poll out from newsweek stating that the GOP is in meltdown. My confusion is the poll claimed most americans now trusted the democrats on the war on terror and with moral values because of the Foley mess. Is this believable? I fail to see what the war on terror has to do with Foley. I am not sure of the sampling. Does anybody have any info on the polls at this time in 2002? I remember the GOP not polling well in 2004 but not in 2002.

Someone who I work with claims that Bush said god told him to attack iraq, i cannot find any transcript that says this. Is one of those case that " Iheard him say" with no evidence?

I did it!! My mother, a democrat, admitted now that Bush will not be running she will hold her nose and vote republican. She is worried, despite her reservations of the Iraq war and being convinced Bush lied, that the dems will make it worse by pulling out too soon. She trusts the Dems on all issues but her concern about national security is forcing her into the R column this election cycle(except for Jim Oberstar). I think my mother is starting to see the light. She will never become a Repub but lately, now that bush is not running again, she has become more angry at the party. Not the repub party, but the dem party. She still hates bush for some reason, but her complaints have been direct more at the dem party as of late. OK. Our local station has Air America. I do not listen. But i did hear it while at work. Anyways there is a host named randi rhodes. Everyone who heard her comment how dumb she sounded. Way out of her league debating politics. Who is she and is she really that dumb?

What is the ultimate goal of taking on the dems in the Bush lied fight. Is it to try to get his jA numbers up. Does anyone think it will work? What do you all think will happen if that fight is kept up?

My mother still votes democrat. She opposes abortion, gun control(all Indians do), she is very patriotic, not real keen on the war but believes we should kick ass since we are there, believes in God, hates Dean, opposes gay marriage, but both parents still believe it's Humphrey and Truman democrat party. How can i be a better influence. Not to make them republicans but get them off the reflexive D vote. They know the party supports things they dont agree with but they think that's just a few fringe members. Any advice?
