Political polls conducted for most media organizations often are biased against Republicans, says Kellyanne Conway, one of the most respected GOP pollsters. As a result, Barack Obama’s lead over John McCain probably is exaggerated and is contributing unfairly to his momentum, says Conway, president and founder of the Polling Company. Rather than slant the questions, pollsters distort the results by weighting tallies with more responses from people who are likely to vote for Democrats than is warranted, Conway tells Newsmax. For example, they wrongly assume that huge numbers of groups who favor Democrats will show up to vote. To be...

The Maryland governor's race is a virtual tie less than a week before Election Day, as Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s relentless attacks on Mayor Martin O'Malley's record on crime and schools have eroded the Democrat's support in the Baltimore suburbs, a new poll for The Sun shows. O'Malley, who led by 6 percentage points in The Sun's September poll, has seen his advantage drop to just 1 point, well within the survey's margin of error. Ehrlich, who has spent months trying to convince voters that O'Malley's record as mayor makes him unqualified to lead the state, appears to be...

Two new polls released Thursday show Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele cutting into Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin's lead in the Maryland Senate race. In a poll commissioned by the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Mr. Cardin, a Democrat, led Mr. Steele, a Republican who is vying to become the nation's sixth black U.S. senator, 47 to 43 percent. Public Opinion Strategies, an Alexandria-based polling firm, performed the telephone poll of 800 likely voters, with a 3.5 percent margin of error. Also in that poll, Green party candidate Kevin Zeese, who spoke at an anti-war rally yesterday in front of the White...

Gallup Shock: 69 Percent Oppose Dem Filibusters An overwhelming majority of Americans agree with Republicans who say President Bush's judicial nominees deserve an up or down vote, according to a Gallup survey released yesterday. The bombshell survey found that 35 percent "want to see the filibuster rules changed so that those judicial nominees are subject to an up-or-down vote," Gallup said. Thirty-four percent "want to see the filibuster rule preserved" but "would like to see the Senate have an up-or-down vote on those nominees." Only 19 percent told Gallup that Democrats were right to filibuster judicial appointments, with 12 percent...

(CNSNews.com) - Iraqi intelligence documents, confiscated by U.S. forces and obtained by CNSNews.com, show numerous efforts by Saddam Hussein's regime to work with some of the world's most notorious terror organizations, including al Qaeda, to target Americans. They demonstrate that Saddam's government possessed mustard gas and anthrax, both considered weapons of mass destruction, in the summer of 2000, during the period in which United Nations weapons inspectors were not present in Iraq. And the papers show that Iraq trained dozens of terrorists inside its borders. One of the Iraqi memos contains an order from Saddam for his intelligence service to...

"Respected In The World?" John Kerry's campaign theme is "stronger at home, respected in the world." Does it matter if we're respected in the world? No, all that matters is that they know we're strong enough to defend ourselves no matter what. 70% Yes, our relationship with the rest of the world is important. No is winning but keep it up!

DEBKAfile reveals that the long-lost al Qaeda leader, Saudi-born Osama bin Laden, is alive and in Saudi Arabia. Salman Pak: Iraq's Smoking Gun Link to 9-11? With all the talk about how little evidence the Bush administration has tying Saddam Hussein to the 9-11 attacks, we're more than a little surprised at how quickly reporters, not to mention the White House, seem to have forgotten about Salman Pak. That's the name of the Iraqi training camp located south of Baghdad where, according to the accounts of at least two Iraqi defectors quoted in the New York Times last November, terrorists from around the world rehearsed airline hijackings aboard a parked Boeing 707 that bore an eerie resemblance to...
