Allawi is more pro-American then the current government in Baghdad by far. But, he is trying to make deals now with governments and politicians that do not like us at all hoping that he will end up on top.

We made a huge mistake kicking all these decient mid level army officers out after the Iraq War ended. Sure, many eventually were allowed to come back, but we lost very valuable time because of that.
By the way that is a picture up top of Shiek Sattar. Without him creating the Anbar Salvation Council there would be almost no police in Anbar and there would be few if any tribes fighting al-Qaeda.
Then you are accusing US special forces of bullshitting, because they were on the ground right there with the tribal fighters, the 1920 Revolution, the Iraqi police and Army fighting the terrorists.
GSlob the tribal war with al-Qaeda is very real. This while good is nothing compaired to the losses al-Qaeda took three weeks ago fighting the tribes with 100 dead al-Qaeda fighters and 50 captured in one day.
U.S. Marine Brig. Gen. John Allen, deputy commander for Multinational Force-West, and Col. John Charlton, 1st Brigade, Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division commander, sit with Sheik Abdul Sattar the head of security for all of western Iraq.
