So, I saw a promo for something like a movie or TV show about Watergate the other day, and that sort of sparked my curiousity about what the whole scandal was about - up until I started researching it, I only had some vague understanding that there was a break-in, a big scandal, some partially erased tapes, and Nixon resigned. Well, after researching it quite a bit I have a much better understanding of the whole fiasco, but there are still a few things that I don't understand or can't make sense of yet. Thousands of Japanese have been swindled in a scam in which they were sold Australian and British sheep and told they were poodles. Flocks of sheep were imported to Japan and then sold by a company called Poodles as Pets, marketed as fashionable accessories, available at $1,600 each. That is a snip compared to a real poodle which retails for twice that much in Japan. The scam was uncovered when Japanese moviestar Maiko Kawamaki went on a talk-show and wondered why her new pet would not bark or eat dog food. She was crestfallen when told it was a sheep....

Fred Phelps and the rest of the psychos at westboro baptist church have announced that they're going to protest the funerals of the Virginia Tech students. Apparently they've officially announced they're protesting at the funeral for Ryan Clark, and all these students have gotten together on Facebook and are planning on standing silently between the protesters and the families at these funerals. I'm not sure if the Patriot Guard is going to be at any of the funerals.
