I can see the NY Times headline now:

"Sources: White House knew of risk of allowing Cheney to use a shotgun." An Administration source has confirmed to The Times that internal Administration studies have shown there is a great risk of an accidental shootings when hunting. The Administration ignored these alarming studies.

The SAO was crushed with calls to go after Limbaugh, after a local liberal hero (Randi Rhodes)urged the condo commandos in Palm Beach County to do so. Her radio show follows Rush each afternoon here. She also so much as admitted (with glee) on her show that she was the one suspected of dropping the money laundering charges to the press. Rush and Randi have a fight going as she has claimed that he is stopping her from going national. This is all political. Just watch, Krischer will be rewarded with either a seat in the U.S. House or Senate. Any gamblers out there?

Randi admitted yesterday on her show that she is the "I know who is behind this" un-named person who has spread life to the Rush story about money laundering. The long simmering feud between her and Rush is progressing quickly. I hope he squashes her like a bug. She has been influencing her condo commando listeners to pressure State Attorney Barry Krisher(D) to prosecute Rush. Apparently, their calls to his office have had an impact.

Chuck Conaway, the guy who capitulated to Michael Moore over selling bullets for handguns. That aside, this couldn't happen to a bigger scumbag. I worked for a company that lost at least $15 million due to his mismanagement and deception. For years before the Chapter 11 filing, they were ripping off vendors left and right. This is one guy that I would love to see in shackles.

Here is an update from The Palm Beach Post:

    Attorney: 'Explosive' bullet downed Drewes

By John Pacenti, Palm Beach Post Staff Writer
    Thursday, November 6, 2003

The single bullet that killed Mark Drewes on his 16th birthday was not your average leaden slug.

It was a "pre-fragmented" or "frangible".38-caliber projectile that exploded upon impact, slinging little balls of shrapnel engineered to inflict a fatal wound, said Bob Montgomery, the high-profile lawyer representing the Drewes family.

"Unparalleled stopping power" is the way one manufacturer describes them.

Drewes was killed about 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 25 during a game of "ding-dong-ditch," shot in the suburban Boca Raton community of Boca del Mar by his neighbor Jay Steven Levin. The 40-year-old accountant has said he thought the teen was a burglar when he answered the door. Hospital records show Drewes was shot in the back.

The Drewes family hired Montgomery to sue Levin, who has not been charged in the death of the Pope John Paul II High School sophomore.

Sheriff's detectives are expected to turn over their investigation to prosecutors on Friday. State attorney spokesman Mike Edmondson said the office will work expeditiously to decide whether charges are to be filed. Charges under consideration include manslaughter by culpable negligence, sources say.

"I can't imagine anybody using that bullet under any circumstances unless you are law enforcement," Montgomery said. "There is really no reason to have it unless you really want to hurt and maim a person."

Pre-fragmented bullets are legal and can be purchased over the Internet for as little as $3.25 apiece. They are considered safer than solid bullets because they are less likely to ricochet, injuring bystanders.

Bo Hitchcock, the attorney for Levin, said he knew nothing of what type of ammunition was used. Hitchcock has said his client wants desperately to explain what happened.

"He wants to talk. There's no question," Hitchcock said. "But it's too close to the incident. There's death and tragedy, and we can't at the time."

Montgomery is no stranger to taking on firearms cases. Last year he sued the distributor of the "Saturday Night Special" used by teenager Nathaniel Brazill to kill Lake Worth Middle School teacher Barry Grunow. A judge overturned the jury's decision to award $1.2 million in damages to Grunow's widow because the panel also had concluded that the gun was not defective.

Montgomery said he has information that the bullet that killed Drewes was a Glaser Safety Slug, bullets carried by federal sky marshals because their fragments cannot pierce an aircraft's fuselage. A source close to the Drewes investigation said that was not the brand, but "real close."

"If it's not, it's exactly like the Glaser. It's an explosive type of bullet. It's horrible," Montgomery said.

"For 27 years, the Glaser Safety Slug has been the overwhelming choice for the 'house gun' stored in the night stand," the manufacturer says on its Web site.

    .

    .

What I find funny is the quote from Montgomery: "I can't imagine anybody using that bullet under any circumstances unless you are law enforcement," Montgomery said. "There is really no reason to have it unless you really want to hurt and maim a person."

I guess that regular bullets just tickle. This sleaze is now going to go after the bullet maker like he did with Valor Corp. after the teacher was shot. I never really got into Shakespeare, but he was certainly right about lawyers......

A funny thought just popped into my mind.... Could it be that this was just a set-up sham by someone in the Limbaugh camp to get high-profile democrats and liberals to take the bait and start crucifying Rush? The story breaks when he is “unavailable” to really comment and his only statement is a fuzzy denial of knowledge of any investigation.

If they take the bait and the story turns out to be totally without merit, who has MAJOR egg on their faces?

I think there is something true to the story, but it could be a farce and the joke would be on all of us.

Bob Graham has transformed from a somewhat vanilla moderate to a rabid partisan who will say anything to anybody if he believes that it will help him to be elected president next year.

If this senator is going to continue to put his personal aspirations before that of Floridians, he should do the honorable thing and resign his seat, as Bob Dole did in 1996. Then Jeb! can appoint Mark Foley. I'd love to see that. Foley was my congressman before redistricting gave me the embarrassing Alcee Hastings

Does it really matter if the majority of attendees where white? Is it perhaps because the majority of the country is white? This is the same guy who ridculed the GOP in 2000 for having too many black people at the convention.

    Full article:

Roberts to run for Congress; replacements line up

By George Bennett, Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Tuesday, February 19, 2002 With Palm Beach County Commissioner Carol Roberts poised to run for Congress, at least four Democrats are considering running for the commission seat she's held since 1986.

Democrat Roberts, who gained international fame during the 2000 presidential recount as a member of the county's elections canvassing board, has called a news conference in Boca Raton today to announce she is challenging U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fort Lauderdale.

Roberts, 65, was considered a shoo-in to win a fifth term on the commission this year representing a heavily Democratic mid-county district. She plans to remain on the commission through the end of her term in November while she challenges Shaw.

Meanwhile, a swarm of candidates could run to replace her in the fall.

Former West Palm Beach City Commissioner Jeff Koons said he'll file papers today to open a campaign. Koons, a Democrat, was a city commissioner from 1989 to 2000. He's also chairman of the multi-governmental Metropolitan Planning Organization.

West Palm Beach City Commissioner Al Zucaro said he's giving serious thought to scrapping his Democratic state Senate bid and running for the commission seat instead. Zucaro lives just outside Roberts' county commission district but says he'd consider moving.

Children's Services Council member Bonnie Weaver is also mulling the race. Weaver was appointed to a six-week stint on the West Palm Beach City Commission in 1999 and lost a Democratic special election primary for state House in 2000.

Also interested is Larry Winawer, the president of the Palm Beach County Young Democrats and a relative unknown in local politics. Winawer, 33, filed in December as a candidate for the congressional seat held by U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, R-West Palm Beach. Party leaders want him to step aside so their anointed favorite, sheriff's Capt. Ken Eggleston, can avoid a primary.

Roberts represents county commission District 2, which includes parts of West Palm Beach, Greenacres and suburban Lake Worth. The district is 49.3 percent Democratic and 30.1 percent Republican.

Republicans did not put a candidate on the ballot against Roberts in either of the last two elections, and the GOP has shown little interest in the seat this year. Republican David Floering, who ran an unsuccessful write-in campaign against Roberts in 1994, opened a campaign account for the District 2 seat more than a year ago but has not raised money or actively campaigned.

Perhaps the best-known Republican in District 2, former West Palm Beach Mayor Nancy Graham, said she's not interested in Roberts' seat. County GOP Chairwoman Mary McCarty said she did not know of any potential Republican candidates.

District 2 is 6.5 percent Hispanic, the highest Latino percentage of any commission district. Hispanic leaders said Monday that they will look for candidates to run for the seat. Some mentioned Democratic Port of Palm Beach Commissioner Rafael Rondon, but Rondon said he is not interested.

What nuclear power is going to side against the combined nuclear might of America and Russia in a global war against Islamic fanaticism?

Only China is even capable of it and China is not going to commit suicide for the sake of Islam.

Actually, the "radical" Islam movement has ticked off both Russia and China, so I don't see them fighting against us because of this. Though I do expect that they will publicly chastise any of our actions against any Islamic nation or territories for their own propaganda purposes.

I personally sent letters to members of the board, and sent a letter to Mr. Schrempf at his home. Nothing spooks a CEO like knowing someone is pi$$ed at them and knows where he lives. I know if I took the time to write letters, hundreds of other FR members did too.

Congressman David Weldon was my doctor before he was my congressman. He is one of the most respectful people that I have met. When I asked him why he was giving up a successful practice and a substantial amount of money to run for congress in late 1993, he responded that he had no choice. The Clinton health care plan would either make him perform abortions, or practice medicine in the most undesirable spots in the nation. Despite the liberal Florida Today / USA Today machine, he trounced his opponents including this past round where he beat the cousin of Dicky Gephardt.

This demonizing of him is yet another ridiculous attempt at making Republicans the party of hatred. Why is it that liberals want to give gay couples coverage in health care plans and yet still keep the marriage penalty intact? I’m sure as soon as the gay community starts to have a tax penalty as the rest of us do, they will gladly forego the benefits.
