Totally ridiculous. When I was a kid riding my Honda 3 wheeler going about 50 mph, I hit and killed a big dog. I stopped to check on it and it was dead, but nothing happened to my 3 wheeler, I cannot believe a giant plane would have turned around for that. Ridiculous.
Every church I attended Mass in prior to the end of Vatican II had missals with both English and Latin, on facing pages. The only people who couldn't figure it out were the ... ummm ... ahhh ... NOPE! EVERYBODY could follow the Mass if they had a third or fourth grade reading level.
Very true! And lets not forget that there were very few or no missals at all for the laity for the prior 1900 years or so, yet the faithful consciously followed and had the basic understanding of what was being prayed.
“Bishop Athanasius Schneider has said he proposed the promulgation of an apostolic constitution to regulate the coexistence of the traditional Latin Mass and the post-conciliar Roman rite to Pope Leo XIV.” I think me and him could get along.
There can be no coexistence between the True Mass and the new "mass." He must absolutely and unequivocally banish and condemn the new "mass" and mandate that only the True Mass be celebrated aka Quo Primum. Until that happens, everything within the Church and world are going to keep getting worse.
Yep, I will never forget that day. We lived about 2 miles from Lake Huron, and about 100 miles north of Detroit. The wind there that day was a constant 70mph according to the radio weather reports. I filled a gallon milk jug about half way and threw it straight up as high as I could, about 500 feet later it hit the ground and kept going ha ha. The last place in the world that I would’ve wanted to be that day, was on the water. It was wicked.
But if ALL the congregants aren’t fluent in Latin, what’s the point?
All the traditional missals for the laity have both Latin and the English translations side by side, so it is really very easy to understand everything.
