New weapon could mean the end of collateral damage The U.S. military has been developing a gunship that could literally obliterate enemy ground targets with a laser beam. The military plans to test the Advanced Tactical Laser, a laser weapon mounted on a C-130H air transport that could destroy any weapon system without collateral damage. The laser could have tremendous repercussions on the battlefield, particularly in urban warfare in such countries as Afghanistan and Iraq. "It's the kind of tool that could bring about victory within minutes," an official said. The applications of ATL could change military dynamics on the...

Zogby now has the race back to a tie. It is very difficult, within a multi-day tracking poll, to come up with individual day samples that result in a spike one way and a return spike the very next day.

Click the link for a blurb about the article. I'm afraid they don't print their stuff on line. I did purchase a print copy and read the article which included pictures of a letter sent to someone at AMI which owns the NE. It was from an Iraqi government building. It seemed to be a mail probe designed to figure out how AMI's mail system worked. AMI kept the letters, but didn't think much of them until after the fact.

Well, it wasn't the best day for a protest, but I at least had the element of surprise on my side. I scouted the Cathedral around Noon to see where their setup was going to be. They wanted to raise a huge piece sign on a king-size bed sheet and tie it to the Cathedral, but either they couldn't work out the logistics, or the cops didn't let them. I went to Radio Shack which is fortunately only a few blocks away and purchased an $85 (including 7% sales tax) bullhorn. Last night, I had decided to fight fire with ...

RENTON, Aug. 29 — Bret D. Schundler has made a career out of defying expectations. He entered politics by defeating the powerful Hudson County Democratic machine to win election as mayor of Jersey City. This year, he ran what even his rivals considered a perfect primary campaign, beating out first an incumbent acting governor and then a party favorite to capture the Republican nomination for governor. But in the two months since he scored his primary upset over former Representative Bob Franks, Mr. Schundler's campaign for governor has been anything but perfect, giving ammunition to his enemies and making ...

As California politicians wade deeper into the energy crisis, the state's electric-grid operator appears headed toward a showdown with federal energy regulators over whether its board is independent enough. The California Independent System Operator Friday bowed to pressure from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and submitted its qualifications to continue as a federally sanctioned grid operator. But the tardy filing is almost certain to be challenged by federal regulators and market participants because the ISO's governance structure has strayed from a "bedrock requirement" that it be "independent of control by any market participant." The market participant casting the long shadow ...

Click on the link above for the article. It looks like McKinnon has backed off of his support for his lackey Lozano who it appears could get crucified for this. If you search for Lozano in FR you will find that she attended democrat activist PAID training. She's definitely the mole, and candidates everywhere should watch their backs.

At the church in which I grew up it is standard practice that the proclamation of the POTUS for T-day is read allowed to the congregation by the Minister. Some churches also contain prayers for our country's current elected leaders on days such as this. I implore you to encourage your Minister to suspend this practice this year in order to protest the hostage situation in Florida.

Bush Set to Fight An Electoral College Loss They're not only thinking the unthinkable, they're planning for it. Quietly, some of George W. Bush's advisers are preparing for the ultimate "what if" scenario: What happens if Bush wins the popular vote for President, but loses the White House because Al Gore's won the majority of electoral votes? "Then we win," says a Gore aide. "You play by the rules in force at the time. If the nation were really outraged by the possibility, then the system would have been changed long ago. The history is clear." Yes it is, ...

It's gone now (I think because there was a typo in the new 12-day table they have installed where they had transposed the figures). Nonetheless, the results for the day appeared consistent and the fav/unfav was 45/41 for each one. The actual margin was 2.1%. Oh, and uh, this is Breaking News.
