(WATE) — Officials with Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge said there were no injuries nor any indication of a release of radioactivity after a fire involving uranium occurred early Wednesday. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration, the fire occurred at 9:14 a.m. Steven Wyatt with NNSA said that there was a hood fire in Building 9212, a uranium procession facility. Washburn University removed the statues of Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson from their campus saying that they didn't want those statues to be an embarrassment to alummi. On 8/21/2020, they quietly cancelled a black lives matter rally that was to be held in their stadium. Their excuse was coronavirus. They've just announced the rescheduling of the event to 10/02/2020. Police are investigating an injured Kansas Army National Guardsman’s reports that he has been the victim of a beating and repeated vandalism involving burned flags in recent days. The 23-year-old soldier, Marion G. Coleman III, says he awoke Wednesday morning and found someone had "egged" his apartment at Cedarwood Apartments in the 2400 block of Ousdahl Road and had left four burned flags outside. Just a thought, Alec Baldwin has put his guestbook back up. Some folks are there posting various things to mess with Alec (of which I whole-heartedly approve provided it is funny and entertaining). You have to join the site to post anything. What if we took over the bulletin board and made it a conservative discussion forum.
