Ordination of older men is present reality, and nothing indicates the trend would change any time soon. So...?

I thank you for posting the article. Eventually there will be more bishops like Bishop D'Arcy I think. The Holy Father is probably waiting for the US bishops to realize where the devil dwells and to sprinkle holy water in that exact spot.

There is the WHOLE Catholic Church out there. Ask yourself, what are YOU doing? Are you faithful in your own life? Is anyone else responsible for anything in the Church? Or is it all Pope's? If you, and everybody else keep looking for the Pope to intervene in every little cr@p of an issue, then we are in trouble, Christianity is over.

Everyone [yes, you TOO, and the fallen away Catholics, and non-Catholics, and wannabe Catholics!] is responsible for the Church and for the way we live out Christ's Gospel. You can't be waiting for the Pope to act in every little matter. Everyone needs to be faithful and support the Pope with a fervent prayer [if you have any faith left, that is].

Archbishop Lefebvre was told not to pursue with new ordinations for the time of Vatican's investigation. But he was much like you, he knew better than the Pope. So he got exactly what he asked for.

Approval and subsequent disapproval of a particular translation of the Scriptures doesn't qualify as magisterial teaching "ex cathedra." I don't even see how the Pope got involved in a French translation? It's normally the local bishop's playground. I'm not so sure if the article describes authentic events.

The doctrine of Papal infallibility was defined at the First Vatican Council in 1870, and it has been opposed by non-Catholics ever since. It makes no sense to those who from the time of the Protestant Reformation reject the leadership of the successor of St. Peter. The 1888 article is an example, I think.

Papal infallibility doesn't mean that the Pope will hit a jackpot each time he plays Lotto, but that when he teaches "ex cathedra" on faith and morals he enjoys the assistance of the Holy Spirit, which makes his teachings infallible.
