Why Does HSLDA Oppose the Treaty? Promoting equal rights and protections for disabled persons around the world sounds like a great idea. But let’s take a closer look at what the treaty actually says and how it would impact the United States. Here are some of our most serious concerns. The CRPD could threaten homeschooling rights and parental rights. It would surrender parents and caregivers’ decision-making ability on behalf of their disabled children to unelected and unaccountable UN bureaucrats. The CRPD would override existing state laws, seriously damaging states’ rights. The CRPD would surrender our nation’s sovereignty to unelected bureaucrats.

The NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD in Portsmouth, Virginia, is one of the largest shipyards in the world specializing in repairing, overhauling and modernizing ships and submarines. It's the oldest and largest industrial facility that belongs to the U.S. Navy, and it's also the most multifaceted.

Just a prayer for tonight's debate.

I have an acquaintance that works at a Sun Trust bank in Richmond, VA who told me yesterday that Sun Trust charges $7 to cash a business check drawn from a SUNTRUST account. That is a lot of money for a day laborer! That is highway robbery. The bank is holding the business's money AND charging the customers to have access to it. Unbelievable.

Nancy’s final healthcare solution: Kill your colleagues The decision of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to renege on her promise speaks volumes concerning her Machiavellian view of political power. Should her maneuver succeed in bringing passage of the final bill without public scrutiny, the bill will nonetheless eventually reside in the public register. Once there, it will be accessible to the American public, and available for dissection by America’s formidable political machines for more than 300 days leading up to the re-election of the entire House of Representatives, and the political extermination of a large number of her colleagues. One of...

Syria has revealed that it has built a missile facility over the ruins of what the US says was a nuclear reactor destroyed by IAF warplanes, diplomats said Tuesday. A satellite photo from Sept.... The diplomats quoted Syrian nuclear chief Ibrahim Othman as saying during a closed meeting Tuesday that the new structure appeared to be a missile control center or actual launching pad. They demanded anonymity for divulging details about what Othman told the International Atomic Energy Agency's 35-nation board. The IAF reportedly bombed the site in September 2007. While Israel has not commented on the strike, Washington subsequently...

This whole pro-gay, anti-God thing has gotten so far out of hand to be surreal. There is a girl in Cal who is suing the govt to get the pledge of allegiance out of schools, while the ACLU back "tolerance day" while young children are taught that its OK to have a personality disorder that leads to same sex attraction. The ACLU has become public enemy number one not because they defend people's rights, but because they only defend the rights of the pro-gay, pro-abortion, anti-God cases. They are highjacking the country and forcing our children to feel like its...

Excuse the vanity post, but I need some information about the inauguration. I got a note from my Congressman saying that I will be receiving "standing room" tickets for the inaugural swearing in ceremony....Does that really mean that I will be close enough to see the event, or will I be one of the distant faces looking on from the ellipse?? If it's the latter, then I will probably enjoy the TV version more. Can anyone whose been to one of these affairs clue me in??

Just a reminder this Holiday Season to remember the veterans in Walter Reed Medical Ctr. and National Naval Medical Ctr. The cards addressed to "any soldier or airman" really do get delivered to real people that can use the encouragement. We have 6 children ranging in age from 4 to 12 and they colored about 20 patriotic pictures one afternoon and sent them in individual envelopes to Ward 57, Walter Reed Medical Ctr and Ntl Naval Med Ctr addressed to "any soldier" just to say thanks and to tell them that we are praying for them. My 5 year old...

A question for the conservative masses: We have all seen that Arlen Specter has gone out of his way to say that he would not rubber stamp Bush's judiciary selections. As a result all of the red states are absolutely rabid about keeping from being chairman of the Judiciary Committee. Nonetheless, Bush AND Santorum firmly supported him in the election. I recently read Rusurrection:The Confirmation of Clarence Thomas by JOhn Danforth. In that book, Danforth stated that Specter was in favor of Thomas' confirmation, but in order to maintain legitimacy in the hearings he had to be "devil's advocate" as...

CBS) The race for the White House heads into its final two days very close in the nationwide popular vote, and nearly the same as it was two weeks ago. President George W. Bush holds a three-point lead over Senator John Kerry among likely voters, an edge within this poll's margin of error.

I dont know what information just came out, but Tradesports just went crazy...there was a big gain in W's price and a big drop in sKerrey's. It went from a 10 to a 12 point spread in about 1 minute....with changes on BOTH W and K contracts..I

WASHINGTON - It could happen again: One candidate captures the popular vote, but his opponent wins the presidency in the Electoral College (news - web sites). AP Photo Such a replay of the 2000 election is an outcome of Tuesday's balloting that many Americans dread. It also could be the one that finally would drive the nation to a serious debate about the future of the Electoral College. Proponents of changing the way the United States elects its presidents say another mixed result would help build support, particularly if the parties' roles were reversed. There was no groundswell to abolish...

Did the liberal's control of the media, and Michael Moore's film ultimately put Bush back in office by making that Ishmaelite UBL believe that the American people really WERE pacifist, head-in-the-sand babies that he could push around? If so, then that is the biggest blunder the dems have made in this campaign. And their blindness is not surprising when you think about it. They live in a sugar coated imaginary world where no one ever has to make a sacrifice for anything, and where there is no "out there" to be afraid of. It's ironic, but you could almost say...

What are your views? (From my moniker you know I think its a great idea, but I wanted to hear the views of the rest of the conservative world) While you're at it...give me a "Dream Team" Supreme Court bench.

The crushing pressures of fighting two overseas wars, the constant vigilance against terrorists, foreign competition, an economy needing revival and several other issues require a president with the fortitude to lead and not blink. We believe that the leadership of George W. Bush during the past four years shows a man who resolutely stays on the issues that affect Americans. He is in the best position to lead America in the next four years. There is plenty of room for improvement in the Bush record. He has gotten himself into a fiscal situation that no president would want, of rising...

Are there any veterans or freepers in the Richmond, VIrginia area that would be interested in partnering with me in showing these two videos the Saturday before the election? We have a community center that can be rented here in my area ( I am open to other locations as well...the comm ctr only seats about 100). I know that Virginia is already a "Red state". but I would love to honor our vets that night. I think that showing these two videos back to back would be very powerful. What would be evenb MORE powerful is if a Swift...

With up to three Supreme Court retirements expected in the next four years, the next president could play a huge role in tilting a court that is nearly evenly balanced -- if any of his nominees can pass the Senate...
