  • (Vanity) In the minority view of Clapton

Clapton is OK, his Cream stuff was OK. SRV, Hendrix, Buddy Guy, etc. etc. Those are virtuoso's of the guitar. Clapton is very sterile in his playing. He is over rated. And don't get me wrong, I like Clapton and love his Cream stuff, but he isn't the virtuoso that many clam. Hardly innovative at all, just a run of the mill blues player. He became a commodity in the sixties because he was a white American man playing delta blues and hard blues rock. So what? he hasn't done a thing since Cream and Derek and the Dominoes. Sue...
  • (vanity) ODB Death, the sadness of some of the comments

I know this a message board and that I am new, but being a black man I have some problems with the tone of some of the comments earlier posted. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1279414/posts While his music is a subjective matter of tatse, I don't think it warrants a "good riddance" shout upon the announcement of his death. I am (as many know) probably the only conservative in my family and neighborhood. I am usually on the side of these things where I am the one that comes across callous and insensitive (yuk, I hate that liberal word). In this case however, I...
  • Help them (all) leave (Hysterical)

Ha, I love this. Click the link. I am making out a check today to help their cause and to get this deportation process rolling. It's a double bonus, because I believe I can claim it as a tax write off. I'll check with my accountant. Since I am supposedly rich, it will be another one of those evil Republican perks for the rich that the "uniters of the country" wax poetic about all the time. Anyway, I think I'll wire this group some money today (TIC). I want to furnish these douche bags with a first class ride out...

TV Stations Cancel 'Saving Private Ryan NEW YORK — Several ABC (search) affiliates have announced that they won't take part in the network's Veterans Day (search) airing of "Saving Private Ryan," (search) saying the acclaimed film's violence and language could draw sanctions from the Federal Communications Commission (search). Stations replacing the movie with other programming Thursday include Cox Television-owned stations in Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C., three Midwest stations owned by Citadel Communications. "Under strict interpretation of the rules, we can't run that programming before 10 p.m.," said Ray Cole, president of Citadel, which owns WOI-TV in Des Moines, KCAU-TV in...

Electing to Leave A reader’s guide to expatriating on November 3 Posted on Wednesday, November 3, 2004. Originally from Harper's Magazine, October 2004. By Bryant Urstadt. So the wrong candidate has won, and you want to leave the country. Let us consider your options. Renouncing your citizenship Given how much the United States as a nation professes to value freedom, your freedom to opt out of the nation itself is surprisingly limited. The State Department does not record the annual number of Americans renouncing their citizenship—“renunciants,” as they are officially termed—but the Internal Revenue Service publishes their names on a...
  • (Vanity) Adios Muchachas Y Muchachos

(tongue firmly in cheek - or not) Adios Muchachas The areticle posted below about the terrified San Fransisco residents that are planing their exodus to Canada and France or what not, got me to thinking. Some of these people promised us they would leave if Bush was re-elected. I would be broken hearted if they didn't keep their word. Many a celebrity, neo-hippie, soccer mom liberal, and media elitst alike espoused and waxed poetic about their penchant for a hatred of a Bush ran America after Nov. 2nd, many to the point of threatening to leave the country and join...

Guys, below is an editorial that I myself wrote. It is going to run in several small print media outlets here in Kansas City on next Tuesday and Wednesday. The big publication here ( Kansas City The Star) is "considering" it for their on-line edition for next Friday. I'm an aspiring conservative writer and a young African American male, (sell out, uncle tom - or so I'm told) nonetheless. I just Thought I'd let the Freepers get a load of it first hand so that you can me tell what you think. Thanks, Curt ---------------------------------------- So you lost huh? What...
