The article perpetuates a misconception. The software in question does not spy on the activity on a phone, but it can download the activity on a phone that is in the possession of the investigator. However, the phone usually has to be unlocked for the contents to be accessible.

Ohio’s AG filed an amicus brief in support of... no one. Basically, he just asked SCOTUS to make a determination about whether the actions of PA, MI, WI and GA violated the Elector’s Clause. But even if it did, he opposes SCOTUS providing any remedy. So even if SCOTUS finds those states violated the Constitution, he is apparently okay with Biden winning with unconstitutional votes...

They could each file their own cases or join together to file a second suit that echoes the Texas suit. In that case, SCOTUS would combine them with the Texas suit into a single case. But this is a time-sensitive issue, and that might delay the case to the point where any action might come too late.

Technically true, but Thomas and Alito have both argued in previous cases that SCOTUS is required to accept cases of original jurisdiction for the simple reason that there is no other court the states can go to when they have a dispute against another state. I think you would easily have ACB and probably Gorsuch with the same viewpoint. Depending upon whether 4 votes or 5 are required to accept the case, Kavanaugh would be the wild card.

Supreme Court precedent would seem to disagree with you. Even a state constitutional provision nor a federal statute could not prevent the state legislature from appointing a slate of electors if they so choose. The power given to the state legislatures to choose the method of selecting the electors is plenary and cannot be removed, limited or abdicated:

“This power is conferred upon the legislatures of the States by the Constitution of the United States, and cannot be taken from them or modified by their State constitutions... Whatever provisions may be made by statute, or by the state constitution, to choose electors by the people, there is no doubt of the right of the legislature to resume the power at any time, for it can neither be taken away nor abdicated.”
