Sara was on Greta's show last night and I couldn't help but wonder why she would be wearing a Hillary Pin. If you don't remember the Hillary Pin, it was a pin that she and all of her 'friends' wore during the impeachment as well as during her run for the Senate. Just wondering? I couldn't get the image to display properly, and would appreciate some assistance if available.Sara

Gov. Mike Easley on Friday strongly objected to any use of poisons by the Navy to control birds at a proposed airstrip near a national wildlife refuge. Easley said the Navy's plan would destroy the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. "I want to make sure you are aware of this threat to our state's fragile and priceless natural heritage," Easley said in a letter to state officials before six public hearings, starting Monday, scheduled by the Navy to gather comments on the proposal. The Navy wants to build a jetway for pilots to practice aircraft carrier landings about five miles...

Burr bid receives a boost As Democrats wait to see whether U.S. Sen. John Edwards will seek his Senate seat in addition to his run for the White House, Republican Richard Burr's Senate campaign is gaining steam. In fact, two fund-raisers who helped Democrat Erskine Bowles in last year's Senate race have now agreed to aid Burr's campaign. On Monday, James Hance, Bank of America's chief financial officer, co-hosted a fund-raiser for Burr's campaign. And this weekend, R.V. Owens, a restaurant owner on the Outer Banks, will host one as well. While the two influential figures are joining forces with...

Duval Voting Troubles Continue Though they opened on-time, troubles with the new voting machines at a number of precincts in Duval County prevented many ballots from being counted, though we are now told that the problem has been resolved. Among those precincts affected was the Mary Singleton Senior Center, the precinct that had the most trouble on Primary Day. Corrine Brown, congressional candidate, was outraged at the problems at the polls and told WOKV NEWS that she was aware of a similar problem at precinct 10J. Both of those polls are in heavily African-American precincts, and she wondered why...

Passing on this info I just recieved from our support services department. "I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician who was conducting a test on telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#), and then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious and refused. Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home ...

Just came in from lunch and the town is backed up wall-to-wall. I've never seen Greenville turn out for any event that wasn't football related before, and Bush isn't scheduled to speak until after 4:00 but it is already bumper to bumper traffic all over town. A few protesters already out (I had to yell "go to hell, commies" out the window, embarrased my poor wife, but then she is a crat.) but most are families already going down to stand in line. I'll try to get in, but all the tickets were taken and I had scheduled a conversion ...

At the top of the hour, an excerpt of an interview with John Ashcroft was played. I waited to see if someone else would comment on it, but so far no takers. The interview was something along the lines of: interviewer: "What can be done to stop the school shootings?" Ashcroft: "I believe that I can say that this administration would support legislation requiring trigger locks." interviewer: "Mandatory locks?" Ashcroft: "I believe that the President has inferred that." Should replay at the top of the hour.

I heard a short while ago that a dem was caught in Fla with a vote-a-matic punch machine in his trunk. The fellow ran for election and was alread under a cloud for attempting to buy votes. He was asked by election officials if he had the machine and denied it, but sheriff personnel found it in his trunk. I thought for sure it would be on here already, but I can't seem to find it.

Extend a hand for the dying children Dr. Khalil I. Jassem, Chairman International Relief Association From Maine to California, and from Canada to the Mexican border, we are the International Relief Association, established during the Gulf War by a group of Americans originally from Iraq. It was very clear to us from day one that this war was going to drag on through fighting or sanctions for an indeterminate period of time. But even we were unprepared for the unspeakable violation of human rights, especially towards children. So we decided to establish a nonprofit charitable organization. Little by little ...
