Went to NJ's Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC..what most states call DMV) to deal with car registration stuff. I was 'accosted' by two Lyndon LaRouche supporters right outside. Their line was 'Help put Bush in a Mental Hospital!' and various other inanities...including 'Prevent the Nuclear Option and Save Billions of Lives" They were so radical it was kind of funny. I asked inside at the information desk if they had a permit and was told 'No' I asked if they needed one and was told 'No.' I was offended enough to go home and print out some signs and stand across...
  • Kurtz and Easongate

Howard Kurtz, the media reporter at the Washington Post, is currently doing an online chat at the link. He has been totally silent about Easongate, CNN's head News Executive's scandalous allegations about our troops for a week. We know that many bloggers, most notable Captain Ed of Captain's Quarters and Hugh Hewitt have submitted thoughtful and intelligent questions. We also know that those questions are being ignored. Instead of talking about Easongate, Kurtz is talking about the glory days and is chatting about Watergate! Being as he also does a show on CNN, I have to wonder if Kurtz's journalistic...

Eason Jordan made comments at the WEF in Davos about the US military targetting and killing 12 journalists. I use Reporters without Borders (Reporters Sans Frontiers (RSF)in French) to investigate his claims. On its homepage RSF says 46 reporters and 'media assistants' have been killed in Iraq since the start of fighting. 31 Journalists, 15 media assitants. They link to a list of names which links to a short blurb on each of the deceased reporters. They do not have blurbs for the assistants, but I tried to piece together what I could. CNN's Eason Jordan said 12 dead journalists...
  • Media are easy marks (Eason Jordan @ Davos)

The scandalous remarks of Eason Jordan, CNN's top news executive, last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and the failure of the major media to report them suggest the distortions are deliberate. Mr. Jordan told a panel that the U.S. military had killed a dozen journalists in Iraq, and that they had been deliberately targeted. When challenged, Mr. Jordan could provide no evidence to support the charge, and subsequently lied about having made it, though the record shows he had made a similar charge a few months before, and also earlier had falsely accused the Israeli military...
  • CBS's liberal agenda moves from the Newsroom to Reality TV

OK, first allow me to say it isn't my fault. The missus was watching the CBS reality show 'Big Brother' and I caught it. It jumped right out at me that the two guys in charge that week were gay, and at least one of their 2 allies was either in the closet or bisexual. She thought they were straight and I said no way. She decided to try to 'prove' it to me by reading about the show on internet forums where people pay to watch internet feeds, and the consensus there was also that at least 4 of...
  • (Vanity)Is there a bromide so dear to liberals they wouldn't denounce it?

Question: Is there a bromide liberals won't denounce? Or a conservative one they won't endorse? What prompted this is the guest host on Limbaugh's program. There was a caller claiming to be a 'conservative Republican' who was OBVIOUSLY a raving leftist. Is there a simple way to 'out' them? Is there anything we can ask them to say that a liberal will simply not say, regardless of their efforts to deceive? Something so contradictory to their beliefs that they will expose their deception rather than renounce one of their beliefs? Do liberals have a principle they won't denounce to further...
  • It's a farming proposal with a catch: Shrimp

HAMILTON, N.J. - Here, on a 43-acre former dairy farm, John Culley has a vision of what the future of farming might look like in New Jersey. Forget the Garden State. Think crustaceans. In a venture that state agricultural officials say would be the first of its kind in the state, Culley, 31, plans to grow Pacific white shrimp in special indoor tanks and ship them live to specialty markets in Philadelphia and New York. Talk about Jersey Fresh. But Culley, son of a former New York City policeman, will tell you that this is no chimera or passing fad,...

President Vladimir Putin took control of the Russian parliament last night, removing the last effective bastion of opposition to his rule and paving the way for him to assume Tsar-like power. A sailor leaves a polling booth in the Black Sea port of Sevastopol Exit polls last night gave United Russia, the president's party, 37 per cent of the vote, the Communists 15 per cent and Vladimir Zhirinovsky's Liberal Democrats 12 per cent. Rodina, a new nationalist party, was predicted to have won nine per cent. This would give Mr Putin's party and its allies about 58 per cent of...

Costume party with liberals, I am going as the dishonorable Ted 'Chappaquidick' Kennedy, and my fiance is going as Mary Jo Kopechnie. We are looking for ideas, and suggestions, both props and sayings. I'll be carrying a flask and slurring my speech. I'll have a pillow in my shirt (dunlop's disease) and talcum powder my hair and tease it up. I am considering a clown costume red bulbous nose. She will be blue, especially the lips, have seaweed in her hair and carrying a steering wheel. I am interested in other people's ideas, props, mannerisms, sayings, anything. Thanks in advance.

he's a strict vegetarian, while nothing makes him happier than a juicy rib-eye steak. Her father is a fiercely liberal congressman. His, a conservative, once campaigned against hers. She is Jewish. He is Roman Catholic. But Lauren Ackerman and Paul Forte are an easygoing pair and have similar tastes in humor and style. And both are ardent Mets fans. But more on that later. They grew up in Queens, where their families knew each other for years. But though Ms. Ackerman and Mr. Forte attended Ryan Junior High School in Fresh Meadows, they never got to know each other. Then,...

"ABC News Nightline opened last June 9 with words to make the heart stop. "It is becoming increasingly clear," said a grave Ted Koppel, "that George Bush, operating largely behind the scenes throughout the 1980s, initiated and supported much of the financing, intelligence, and military help that built Saddam's Iraq into the aggressive power that the United States ultimately had to destroy." "Is this accurate? Just about every reporter following the story thinks so. Most say that the so-called Iraqgate scandal is far more significant then either Watergate or Iran-contra, both in its scope and its consequences. And all believe...
  • Vanity Post: How ready are we?

How ready for the Iraq fight are we? Last time we sent 8 Armor/Mech Divisions, 2 Airborne Divisions, and a Marine Division and had a further allied 5 mech or armor divisions. Are we jumping the gun when we only have 1 heavy US division in theater? The Marines, 101st and Brits are great, but I want some serious additional armored firepower to make this fight as short and casualty free as possible. Lest I be accused of being a peace type, I want us to go, I just want us to go with MORE. I want the Powell doctrine..OVERWHELMING...
