Speaking only for myself, I appreciate your continuing reminders of this. My only problem is finding the old threads to 'add on to'....... but I'll figure it out. *s*

I 'tought' my posts had some merit and brought up some valid arguements.......... but no reponses/reactions so I think I'm invisible tonight. Perhaps too many typos. *L*

    OK.... off to other threads.

You all have a good night.

"In WW II we were shocked back into reality and awakened. We can be again."

Sorry..... another bad anology. There wasn't a risk of WMD in WWII (until afterwards during the MAD period of the cold war). The hypothesis put forward was a WMD attack in America. Geez, in WWII, we didn't even fight on our home soil.

So when we are "shocked back into reality " this time, get ready for an unleashing of nukes by the USA onto every rouge state in the world. An attack of WMD on our soil would result in unimaginable damage, but rather over there and there and there and there...... than more here.

"And damn those who don't think we are in a holy war because we are."

Most sensible statement in this thread.

Now, how do we deal with it...... just wait for the WMD to arrive here in the USA or .......... PROTECT our country through some pre-emptive action with IRAN, SYRIA, NORTH KOREA and a few other places that pose these threats. and keep SAUDI ARABIA from acquiring nukes and do something about Pakistan before the Islamocs just take control of their nukes.

"did everyone flee all the cities in Japan after Hiroshima?"

This analogy with Japan t the end of WWII is silly. Are the people posting this suggesting that if the USA get a few cities demolished rom nukes, we'll just surrender and we'll all convert to Islam as a national policy?

"We should be judged by future generations by how we act in the worst of times, not in the best. Hopefully, we will never have to test ourselves like that."

But given the hypothetical, you seem to think that we should conduct business as usual if WMD is let loose in this country? I would expect a suspension of many 'civil liberties' while we respond, includng a lock on any VISAs and putting religion vs state aside and "inspecting every osque in the USA for arms et al. The function of our government is to protect our citizens. A mass deportation of illegals sounds just fine as well. But the real preblem would be to deermine WHO we are going to be going after. That's the problem with rougue nations passing WMD to terrorist organiations.

The hy[othetical Franks proposes is really nasty and will result in some extreme actions, certain to upset a whole lot of ACLU folk.

    please forgive typos

The SCOTUS said it was OK as long as it was in the pricacy in your own home...... I think between consenting adults. Not sure of how it was worded.

Didn't Sentator Santorum say this was going to create a slippery slope where unacceptable things were going to start happening behind closed doors, and as long as no one squeeled, it would be fine? I think he's been proved right in his concerns. And he sure took a lot of grief for voicing them. I recall he mentioned incest, beastiality, prostitution....... all over the age of 'consenting' though. *Sigh* Well, pedaphiles are pedaphiles regardless.

""SUMMARY: Intelligence issues are clearly secondary to the public's concern regarding the insurgency in Iraq"

And the mission of the Intelligence Comittee is what?? Clearly not one to strengthen our information collection so that we might be stronger, smarter, and safer. Let's just go after the political angle instead?

Again - THIS part of the meo is more telling than all the rest. "Intelligence Issues are clearly secondary..."??? Please - why is this committee even in existence if that isn't it's PRIMARY role.

"SUMMARY: Intelligence issues are clearly secondary to the public's concern regarding the insurgency in Iraq."

This committee's job is the intelligence gathering information of the country and is their primary mission - It is certainly not seconday to the public's concern regarding what happened to get us in there. They should be addressing the needs of our inttelligence gathering capabilities to make our nation stronger and more secure.

Indicating that "Intelligence Issues are secondary" is close to..... if not...... criminal. This is not a matter of opinion, but the definitions of the missions of all these comittees we have.

Someone WILL resign.... this will go to the ethics comittee for teir investigation, and I HOPE that the FBI and/or CIA become involved. I doubt the information the intelligence agency heads are providing are thought for one minute to be used in such a political way.

This will NOT die out in a day or two.

After 4 years of marriage? Hmmm..... wonder what precipitated the divorce. Oh....... she was 'always' reallly a lesbian? " She just fell in love with......" is such a lame reason for a divorce after four years of marriage. Coulda been true if she left him for another guy.

I wonder about the four years, the family holidays, the talks about Dick having a grandchild one day, etc.

By the way, does he have any other children?

Personal situations are certainly personal, and I guess I disagree with using them as a part of a public campaign. After all, she might, after a couple more years, fall out of love with her..... then what? Or maybe she's not realy in love, sortal like during her 4 year marriage. I don't have a great deal of respect for those seeking a public stage for this sort of thing.

    That would be great!

    Thanks for the response.

Hopefully cause the fires are under more control, but I'm hearing Arrowhead is a potential disaster. True?

I'm just trying to get caught up. Any more in Mexico. I was just over on the thread reading about the fires that just started today in Colorado - near Denver.

This is a national tragedy and a national concern.

Thanks to all the brave FFs out their and to all the Freepers that keep the rest of us informed.

Thanks for the summary update of the various fires and their status. I came on late (east coast after 2 AM) to check on the fires and am not finding too much info on this thread..... just refernces to Yahoo. Seems very very different tonight that the previous nights threads.

Hope to hear more of the status of the fires, their movement, potential damage, where they are heading, and who's at risk. Have a few relatives in the LA area, but they seem safe.

    Thanks for the good update.

Seems if this gets itself developed, it could be installed along the DMV, negating the threat of all those missles aimed at Souel (sp?)........ allowing us to nuke (or at least threaten to nuke) the heck out of the NK nuke sites without as much fear of losing a million people in South Korea. Iran too.

    Hmmmmm

Imagine the uses for a bit of control over the 'rouge countries. Could be a nice thing to have.

The only 'habit' I've learned so far is to initiate posts when I read a Michelle Malkin or Tammy Bruce column. *L* (And to react/post with admitted bias with a touch of the cynical when people start comparing the suicide bombings in the middle east with Israel's struggle to survive).

Kim - I often can't remember the source of something I read a week ago, so even that rationale confuses me. I'd still llike to feel able to post something like "I thought I just read......".

Although, if it's really research, I guess it's reasonable.

"I am more amazed, Bart, that so many posters like Chancellor Palpatine make up so much stuff all the time in order to bolster their otherwise specious argument. Now there are some folks around here who can relate personal experiences and I'll take their word for it because I know they don't make stuff up. ...............

If you are one of his acolytes please refrain from doing his dirty work. If you are genuine please note that Palpate has not replied and if he does reply his answer will be more bilge."

Never heard of Palpate before, never read any of his posts that I can recall, so I'm not one of his 'acolytes'. Just seemed to me that I've see people using those phrases like "show me your source, show me your proof. etc.", that it just seems out of place here on FR. But then again, I'm still relatively new.

Your questions, in this instance, may have validity. I accept that. I was just voicing an observation, not a judgement, that's all. No personal offense intended.

    Thanks for responding.
