    little n* boy? No, she sings "hey, what could make a boy"
    I thought that too until I read the lyrics when I bought the album. That is a real good album of songs, although objections to her mushy pronunciation are understandable. As far as American fascism, patriotism, or whatever, maybe the weirdest thing I have seen over the past couple of years was this guy, a visible federal employee I had occasionally seen on the job, walking past a Barnes and Noble in D.C.'s Union Station, where there was a magazine rack with a picture of Ronald Reagan on the front of the magazines. This man stopped, snapped to attention, and saluted the pictures!

    A tip for low-carbohydrate eaters: get used to the taste of unsweetened chocolate (bakers' chocolate, in the baking section of the grocery story). It has a lot more theobromine for one thing, and zero carbs. An easy, very-low carb dessert: walnuts or almonds in a bowl, covered with half-and-half, and 1/2 oz shredded bakers' chocolate. Also good shredded over grapefruit. I just eat bars of it sometimes because I love chocolate but don't want the sugar.

    from the Dubliners' "seven deadly sins":

    some say that Gambling's a sin,
    but I'll bet you fifty to one
    that gambling has been in this world
    since horses and greyhounds could run

    some say that smoking's a sin
    that a pipe now and then is enough;
    but smoking has been in this world
    since Adam taught Eve how to puff!

    some say that drinking's a sin,
    but a gargle is fine now and then,
    for drinking has been in this world
    for ever and ever, amen.
