There is a lot wrong with all the people involved in this news story.
Why is a woman walking alone at 530ish am with cell phone in hand and didn’t help the guy out after he saved her?

I’m talking in general now:

I see too many of you women walking or jogging or doing stupid things alone when you shouldn’t be there especially when its dark. I’m a guy and you wouldn’t find me going into that situation.

I live near the ocean and its a great area out here but I see women jogging after dark into extremely dark area/secluded areas and I always have to shake my head and say to myself what a Freaking Dummy dummy ( i cant cuss here) but you get what i mean.

Thanks for the insightful look in your neck of the woods.

I’m out here in california ( yea i know the politicians suck) :-)
But out here I only have view of the railroad tracks about 10 feet either way sometimes, as the path down the railway is blocked but fencing/buldings/bushes/ (you name it), so the only way to really see what is coming down the tracks is to actually slow down.
I do turn off the radio and open the windows usually as i approach the train tracks and slow down to about 20mph or less if there is no visibility either way.

Luckily the trains know to slow down to a crawl as some of the roads don’t have signals and some of the tracks are in poor condition (as you mentioned).
Better safe than sorry, right? :o)

I read the article, and living out here in California, I can tell you I have seen too many “Un-Marked” Police Vehicles pulling people over.. Everything from old Hondas tinted windows with cop lights on the rear window shelf to regular everyday vehicles.
If your going to pull me over it better be a real police car with markings.

Seems like this guy got run over with his own vehicle.
Couldn’t pay me enough to be a cop.
Prayers to this detective, I don’t think he’ll be out there again.

I hear ya, I drive defensively all the time.
I would much rather let Mother Nature take me out naturally than some loose screwball :-)

I know it was negligence. I’m just saying people should not take for granted these lights and “gates” will be working at all times.
I cross rail road tracks more than I care for, but i always assume these things will not always be working regardless of negligence or faulty equipment.
I’m sure if this woman had been a little more vigilant she may have had more of a chance, but seems like she was just a typical driver, but to give her credit, I wasn’t there so i will give her benefit of the doubt.
I would just like to see our public drivers be a bit more educated about driving as I see so many are not or don’t care as they fly at high speed without regards to the real dangers of RR tracks.

I slow down at RR Tracks and look both ways. To those that insist at flying across RR tracks... Don’t play with trains....

Always assume there could be a faulty RR switch, etc...

But This Reverend was wrong in how he killed her and makes the church look bad, although people make the church look bad on it’s own.
I guess We will have to see how it goes in court. I guess there’s going to be plenty of time for that.

But I don’t agree with you calling people that “fell” in this Reverend Hopkins situation of “Low IQ”.
Calling People “low IQ” without knowing the situation is now quite right.

A lot of the beaches here in California are often closed because of Sewage Leaks into the Bays and nearby beaches.
I stay away from the beaches because the last thing i want is some bacterial sickness from wadding in someone’s excrement. :o)

I hear ya! I’m no truck driver but I really think the DMV needs to Flunk more of these POS drivers. They don’t know how to drive and there’s been more than a few times they have almost gotten me and passengers killed as well because of their incompetence.
The problem seems this day and age if your stupid or insane you get a free pass in life.
