Illogically high expectations about pinpoint accuracy and target discrimination in a fire-fight are the fantasy of armchair-academics and videogame players. Men on the ground know that war is sloppy and rough. Combat is not a noun or a place that you are “in,” but rather a verb, a thing that you “do” to other people. Principally, combat is imposing your will on the enemy by violence of action and the ugly truth is that the process kills all kinds of people: good ones, bad ones, and yes, even our own. When our expectations of success and precision are unrealistic it...

Yesterday House Republicans approved a conference-wide moratorium on pet project spending. I applaud their efforts and completely support banning all earmarks," Breazeale commented. Breazeale made news last month when he blocked a large earmark from his Democratic opponent, incumbent Congressman Mike McIntyre. His objections were seconded by the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority and blocked pork...

Congressman Mike McIntyre is now backing out of bills that he helped create. Will Breazeale, Republican Candidate for United States Congress in North Carolina's 7th Congressional District took the Democrat to task Monday morning over an election year stunt, designed to cast himself as a fiscal conservative ahead of the November elections. Earlier this month McIntyre flip-flopped, voting against the deficit reduction program known as "Pay-Go." This was in stark contrast to McIntyre's "Yea" vote on the issue just seven months earlier. A bill that McIntyre boldly co-sponsored at the time. "Suddenly Mike McIntyre has found sympathy for the U.S....

For my interview with Will Breazeale, Republican candidate for Congress in North Carolina's Seventh Congressional District, we met at a Wilmington Chick-Fil-A. He picked the place. The restaurants in this successful franchise are owned by Christian businessmen and they serve great chicken. Will is a faithful Christian who likes chicken. Nothing could have worked out better. Will, 41, can be an at-ease guy, and is good company. But he has a spit-and-polish, no-nonsense streak that you might expect in a man who is a highly-decorated military officer, has pulled three tours of combat duty in the Middle East, served in...

Taxpayers in District 7 were the winners on Wednesday. Early in the morning, Will Breazeale, Republican Candidate for United States Congress fought back against a large earmark from the hands of Democrat Mike McIntyre, and saved the district as much as eight million dollars in the process. The earmark centered around funding for New Hanover County's Northeast Interceptor and asset management projects. "For years Congressman McIntyre has acted as though Federal money is not taxpayer money. He seems to think money that comes from Washington is Monopoly money and he is Rich Uncle Pennybags," observed Breazeale. "2010 is the year...
