The Bounty -1984 film (Bligh was actually not as bad as Nollywood made him out to be)

Lots of film renditions have been made about the mutiny that occurred on the HMS Bounty or some would correct that to the HMAV Bounty or some such. But only one got close to getting the history right. That version was the last of the films made in 1984 and headed up by Mel Gibson as Fletcher Christian, starring Anthony Hopkins as Lieutenant William Bligh. I enjoyed watching as a kid the 1960s version of Mutiny on the Bounty with Marlon Brando. What an imposing figure on the screen Brando was. He really brought character to his role as Fletcher...

Tell the Democrat Governors that “Mutiny On The Bounty” was one of my all time favorite movies. A good old fashioned mutiny every now and then is an exciting and invigorating thing to watch, especially when the mutineers need so much from the Captain. Too easy!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 14, 2020

The New (Less Interesting) John McCain

-snip- McCain's problem is that political parties very rarely nominate mavericks, and McCain has decided the only way he'll ever be president is as the Republican nominee. So today he cares very much about what hurts him or helps him in his own party. -snip- McCain's non-conservative, non-Republican sympathizers, they argue, have always overrated his progressive credentials. It's time to face the fact that McCain really is a conservative Republican and stop hoping he's something else.-snip-
