  • BOMBSHELL: In court filing, Facebook admits ‘fact checks’ are nothing more than opinion

As we have previously reported, journalist John Stossel is suing Facebook after Facebook’s ‘fact checkers’ labeled climate change information that Stossel posted as “false and misleading”. In the middle of all this is the nefarious website “Climate Feedback” which has a bunch of climate zealots that write up what they claim are “fact checks” for articles, videos, and news stories they disagree with. Facebook just blew the “fact check” claim right out of the water in court.

"Facebook has admitted in a court of law that such fact checks are not factual at all, but merely opinions. People send me stuff. • Punishing Success is Bad Regulatory Policy

Punishing success is not a path to a better America. Legislation seeking to attack ‘Big Tech’ recently introduced by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in the Senate and Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI) in the House has little to do with regulatory policy to protect competitive markets and everything to do with punishing success. The bills are playing on populist sentiment in both parties to change the behavior of big successful companies. If a version of this legislation is passed, it will make the Internet more difficult to use and will diminish competition. Using government power to break up companies merely because...

The age of mask and vaccine mandates has sparked important conversations about what employers, businesses and our government can ask about our personal health decisions. These discussions often reveal widespread misconceptions about who is responsible for keeping that information confidential and secure. Clarity on this issue is of utmost importance for consumers, especially with the rise of smartphone apps hungry for health data. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 created national standards for protecting individuals’ health information. Many people assume the law applies to any entity that might request or handle health information. In fact, the...

For all the headlines and chatter over Jack Dorsey leaving Twitter last week, it seems nothing is changing with the social media company. Dorsey oversaw the company the same way Dickens opened A Tale of Two Cities. It was the best of times and the worst of times. The opportunity and the obligation to take things in a new direction (or even back to basics), allowing social media to become the great distributor of ideas it originally was intended to be, was in the hands of Dorsey. And he completely failed before he bailed. Instead, it seems that following the...

There were two big announcements in the alternative technology space this week that solidified Gab’s place in the market as a multi-billion dollar business. It’s being reported that the gang of grifters around former President Trump are looking to raise $1 billion dollars from a bunch of satanic hedge funds for a project that failed to even launch into beta testing as promised in November and was hacked within hours of being announced. This is a project with currently no public product, no users, and no revenue that is now worth $4 billion dollars “just because.” Perhaps their business model...

For all the outrage directed at Big Tech over the past decade, regulators have shied away from the nuclear option of actually breaking up a major platform. Until this week, that is. By ordering Facebook to part with Giphy, a GIF creation platform it acquired in 2020, the U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority broke a global taboo and ushered in a brave new world of tech enforcement.

(ThyBlackMan.com) The Rittenhouse trial is over, and despite the belligerent efforts of the national mob, a young man was rightfully spared. The loudest among the mob may have been the prosecutor, corporate media, and the president of the United States, but the most insidious was Big Tech. The men and women who run Silicon Valley could not have been clearer on where they stood. They were relentless in their campaign to derail Rittenhouse’s trial, undermine his constitutional rights, and permanently defame his character. The shift in Big Tech’s “values” is as marked as it is troubling. In a few short...
  • Pfizer revenue and profits soar on its Covid vaccine business: Vaccine business alone was responsible for more than 60% of the company's sales

New York (CNN Business): Pfizer reported that earnings and sales more than doubled in the past quarter, and it raised its outlook for results the full year, thanks greatly to its Covid-19 vaccine. The company reported adjusted earnings of $7.7 billion, up 133% from a year earlier. Revenue soared to $24.1 billion, up 134%. Both easily cleared results forecast by analysts. The vaccine business alone was responsible for more than 60% of the company's sales, as vaccine revenue rose to $14.6 billion from only $1.7 billion a year earlier. The company said its Covid vaccine sales accounted for $13 billion...

“I still worry about the censorship that occurs,” Nunes remarked. “What happens if these companies just decide next year, ‘Well, Republicans, they’re all insurrectionists. Let’s shut off all their credit cards and banking so they just can’t raise any money.’ They could do that, all these woke corporations.”

Protecting the right of people to be censored? A federal court blocked the Texas HB 20 law against social media censorship based on political view. Texas House Bill 20 was enacted to stop platforms from censoring content merely for being the wrong political viewpoint, but U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman has put the law on ice for now. “Pitman granted an injunction filed by NetChoice and CCIA [Computer & Communications Industry Association] to put HB 20 on hold until the case is complete,” Reclaim The Net reported. “The judge argues that the law violates the First Amendment rights of social...

If you don’t understand the stakes, and how fraught the situation is — that the ruling class seeks total power, is closing in on it, and will stop at nothing to achieve it — you are unfit to lead. The defining political question of our time is this: “Do you know what time it is?”The line, popularized by the Claremont Institute’s David Reaboi, succinctly captures the most essential of points: If you don’t understand the stakes, and how fraught the situation is — that the ruling class seeks total power, is closing in on it, and will stop at nothing...

There is a growing darkness in the country. We are in the midst of a coup- a coup of the Constitution. Pelosi once asserted that dissent was patriotic. Now it is racist. Now dissent is punished if one strays from the party line. CRT is the new "n word." The government has become weaponized against conservatives. The current President, as did the last D President, tries to tip the scales of justice. The tech giants are allies in this process. Facebook has become one of the arbiters of freedom of speech. Under the guise of the nebulous "community standards" the...

Twitter, Facebook deemed defendant guilty immediately after Wisconsin shooting Social media platforms rendered a verdict on Kyle Rittenhouse long before he went to trial, suppressing claims that he was innocent and blocking users from searching for details of the case. Immediately after the anti-police riots that thrust Rittenhouse into the national spotlight, social media companies began to block users who expressed support for the Illinois teen. Twitter suspended the accounts of users who called Rittenhouse innocent, including the defendant's own lawyer. Facebook said it "designated this shooting as a mass murder and … removed the shooter’s accounts from Facebook and...

After years of steadily accumulating power, 2021 is the year that Big Tech well and truly flexed its muscle. Gone are the days of banning mere Twitter pundits and demonetizing YouTube channels. In 2021, Big Tech silenced the sitting US president. They stopped the elected chief executive of the world’s largest economy and most powerful military from communicating with the American people. He lost the ability to tweet, post videos, or even send out a mass email.

Big Tech platform Facebook is aggressively censoring any searches for information about the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, an Illinois youth falsely accused of homicide by Wisconsin prosecutors following a self-defense incident at an ANTIFA riot. Reports of Facebook turning off any and all search results amid the trial began last week, with Facebook users sharing evidence of totally disabled searches for Rittenhouse. As Kyle Rittenhouse's prosecutors go into their grand facepalms, following the trial revelation from their star witness that just supported the 17-year-old murder defendant's claim to self-defense, it's pretty obvious the wretched case is now over. AT deputy editor Andrea Widburg has an excellent post today on that here. The short story here is that the kid was beset by Antifa thugs during the Kenosha, Wisconsin arson-and-looting riots last summer and ended up killing a couple of menacing Antifa-linked thugs who seemed to be trying to kill him first. The argument stands up, and even the guy who'd been aiming the...
