(CNN) Nurse Katie Sefton never thought Covid-19 could get this bad -- and certainly not this late in the pandemic. "I was really hoping that we'd (all) get vaccinated and things would be back to normal," said Sefton, an assistant manager at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. But this week Michigan had more patients hospitalized for Covid-19 than ever before. Covid-19 hospitalizations jumped 88% in the past month, according to the Michigan Health & Hospital Association.

Economists expected the country to add 1 million jobs in April. It added just 266,000 — a sign that Bidenomics is kicking in and already becoming a dangerous drag on the economy. [cut] The US future inflation gauge is at a three-decade high, and consumers are already seeing higher prices in everything from baby products to groceries to cars. That’s what happens when you throw money into the economy willy-nilly, as Biden has done (and plans to do much more). The M2, a key measure of the money supply, is up by 25 percent over last year. Biden’s clueless reaction...

WASHINGTON (AP) - America’s employers added just 266,000 jobs last month, sharply lower than in March and a sign that some businesses are struggling to find enough workers as the economic recovery strengthens. With viral cases declining and states and localities easing restrictions, businesses have added jobs for four straight months, the Labor Department said Friday. Still, the unemployment rate ticked up to 6.1% from 6% in March.

WASHINGTON — The Biden administration said Friday that it did not know that a Baltimore factory had discarded millions of possibly contaminated doses of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine when President Biden last month released the company to ship vaccines manufactured there to Mexico and Canada. Canadian and Mexican officials said on Friday that they had assurances from AstraZeneca that the millions of doses they received were safe. Some of the doses have been distributed to the public in both countries, the officials said. Biden administration officials said they had not vouched for the quality of the AstraZeneca vaccine doses made at...

COVID-19 Response Coordinator Jeff Zients told reporters in the White House briefing room that the “pause” would not have a significant effect on the national vaccination effort, because Johnson & Johnson provides a small percentage of vaccines. That overlooks the likely impact of the FDA’s announcement on the public’s willingness to risk the shot. It also ignores the fact that 15 million Johnson & Johnson doses were ruined by a production error — on the administration’s watch. Biden has claimed, falsely, that he “turned around a slow-moving vaccination program” he inherited from President Donald Trump. That was always a lie:...

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., hit Dr. Anthony Fauci in a series of tweets Friday suggesting the top infectious disease doctor is turning a blind eye to the risk of coronavirus spread among migrants at the border. "Paging Dr. Fauci: You need to go to the southern border and witness in person the biggest super spreader event in the nation – President [Biden's] immigration policies," Graham tweeted. Graham said thousands of migrants from Central America with a "10% COVID-positive rate" are spreading the virus at overcrowded border facilities. The migrants are staying "on top of each other" and then "dumped off...

Workers at a Baltimore plant manufacturing two coronavirus vaccines accidentally conflated the vaccines’ ingredients several weeks ago, ruining about 15 million doses of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine and forcing regulators to delay authorization of the plant’s production lines. The plant is run by Emergent BioSolutions, a manufacturing partner to both Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca. Federal officials attributed the mistake to human error. The mixup has halted future shipments of Johnson & Johnson doses in the United States while the Food and Drug Administration investigates. Johnson & Johnson has moved to strengthen its control over Emergent BioSolutions’ work to avoid...

Pres. Joe Biden says he’s keeping his mask on during his remarks to NIH staff, after consulting Dr. Collins and Dr. Fauci. “You know that wearing this mask through the next year here can save lives, a significant number of lives,” Biden says.

More than 31,000 people in the United States have died due to the Chinese coronavirus during President Joe Biden’s first week in office. Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci suggested that wearing two masks “just makes common sense.” An estimated 31,180 people in the U.S. have died due to complications stemming from the coronavirus during Biden’s first week in the White House, according to statistics provided by Johns Hopkins University. Last week, when President Biden was inaugurated, the United States had suffered a total of 397,611 deaths due to the Wuhan virus. One week later, the U.S. has topped 400,000 coronavirus-related deaths,...

China passed a law on Friday that for the first time explicitly allows its coast guard to fire on foreign vessels, a move that could make the contested waters around China more choppy. China has maritime sovereignty disputes with Japan in the East China Sea and with several Southeast Asian countries in the South China Sea. It has sent its coast guard to chase away fishing vessels from other countries, sometimes resulting in the sinking of these vessels. China’s top legislative body, the National People’s Congress standing committee, passed the Coast Guard Law on Friday, according to state media reports....

We're eight months into this pandemic, and Donald Trump still doesn't have a plan to get this virus under control.I do.— Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) October 16, 2020

In October Biden attacked Trump for his handling of the China virus. Biden bragged about “having a plan” to combat the China Coronavirus. “We’re eight months into this pandemic, and Donald Trump still doesn’t have a plan to get this virus under control – I do,” Biden said in an October tweet. On Friday Joe Biden admitted there is nothing he can do to change the trajectory of the pandemic in the next several months. What happened to his magical plan to crush the China virus right away? CLEVELAND, Ohio — Democratic nominee Joe Biden denied he supported the Green New Deal being pushed by his own campaign’s climate change panel during Tuesday night’s first presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio. “The Green New Deal is not my plan,” the Democratic nominee told Fox News moderator Chris Wallace of the sweeping agenda which calls for the US to meet 100 percent renewable energy while creating millions of high-paying jobs. “Do you support the Green New Deal?” Wallace pressed the former veep during the chaotic match-up which frequently devolved into shouting matches between Biden and President Trump. “No, I don’t...

Presidential candidate Joe Biden has released an infrastructure plan that calls for $1.3 trillion in investment over 10 years. The plan, released Nov. 14, makes a pledge to update the nation’s freight infrastructure, from highways and canals to railroads and tunnels. Biden plans to spend $50 billion over the first year of his presidency to repair roads, highways and bridges. He proposes a new $40 billion, 10-year Transformational Projects Fund, which will provide substantial grants for projects that are too large to be funded through existing programs, such as a major port upgrade or new tunnel. Biden also plans to...
