The term &#x26;#x201C;atheism&#x26;#x201D; finds its etymology in the Greek combination of &#x26;#x201C;a&#x26;#x201D; and &#x26;#x201C;theos&#x26;#x201D;. What &#x26;#x201C;atheos&#x26;#x201D; means is, as with any term, subject to context (and perhaps personal interpretation). Note that if an atheist states, &#x26;#x201C;I do not believe in God&#x26;#x201D;, this is technically not a statement about God&#x26;#x2019;s existence or lack thereof.
