Nine people died when a small, twin-engine aircraft used by skydivers crashed Friday evening near Dillingham Airfield in Mokuleia on the Hawaiian island of Oahu, officials said. Company CEO Omer Bar-Yohay said the plane, called Alice, is the first of its kind in the world. Residents of a neighborhood in Las Vegas got an unwelcome surprise in the form of an airplane door falling out of the sky and hitting an apartment building and car. The incident took place near Nellis Air Force Base, which is just northeast of Las Vegas. PPlanes were reportedly grounded at the SeaTac International Airport as reports flew from passengers on Twitter that someone might have stolen an airplane and taken it on an unauthorized flight. Passengers intervened to take down a woman who attempted to open an airplane cabin door during a flight to Boise Monday morning. The incident happened onboard SkyWest flight 5449 from San Francisco to Boise. A spokesman for SkyWest Airlines said the "unruly customer" was restrained, and the flight was able to land safely at the Boise Airport.
