Chick-fil-A is no place to play chicken. Earlier this week, a drive-thru customer at a Chick-fil-A location in Aiken, S.C. started a ruckus after receiving his order, according to the Aiken Standard. Dissatisfied at the temperature or quality of his waffle fries, he ran over to a drive-thru employee and threw the fries in the worker's face. When a manager rushed out to address the assault, the irate customer grabbed a cane from his car and began hitting her with it. In what sounds like a scene from a bizarre David Lynch flick, passers-by and other customers came to the manager's...

**SNIP** But as questions about Clinton’s trustworthiness loomed, largely in light of controversy around her exclusive use of personal email while at the State Department, Aiken had a change of heart. Aiken said while he has “nothing but respect” for Clinton,” he worries that “a lot of (moderates) have negative feelings towards (her).” “I’ll get on a leaky boat going in the right direction before I’ll get on a strong boat going in the wrong direction,” Aiken said, “But I really want a strong boat next year on the Democratic side and I think Joe Biden is a better candidate.”

Renee Ellmers in Tuesday's election, losing his bid to represent North Carolina's 2nd Congressional District, The Associated Press reports. Aiken, 35, won the Democratic nomination after his opponent in the race died suddenly during the primary campaign. If the Idol alum had won, he would have been the first openly gay congressman elected in the South.

In New Jersey, residents who want to transport firearms legally must request a permit from a local law enforcement office and produce a letter stating why it is necessary for them to carry a gun. Â In other words, New Jerseyans have to prove need before exercising what many Americans consider a constitutional right.Twenty-seven-year-old Brian Aitken is learning that the hard way. Arrested in 2009 when police officers found two handguns locked and unloaded in the trunk of his car, Aitken was just sentenced in August to seven years in prison. Now, protesters across the state are organizing a push for...

AIKEN -- The Aiken County Republican Party has approved a formal censure of U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. The party's executive committee took the action Thursday, joining a handful of other county parties, including Greenville's GOP. Committee member Pete Seaha, who also is the Aiken County Tea Party chairman, wrote the resolution and introduced it at the meeting. The resolution states in part that Graham won't be invited to any party meetings or events. "I don't believe the senator is sticking to conservative Republican principles," said Seaha. "In my mind, the senator has disrespected his constituents. He has said publicly...

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) The South Carolina congressman who gained national attention for shouting "you lie" at President Obama during a speech to Congress will attend a Republican rally in Aiken. The Aiken Standard reports the Saturday rally will be held at the Republican Party headquarters in Aiken. Some have called the event a fundraiser and a show of support for Wilson. AIKEN - Aiken County school board members are as familiar with religious requests as the South is to long, hot summers. And as school doors close and the weather heats up, administrators have been presented with yet another proposal to bring a religion-centered program inside the classroom. The Rev. Dean Cartin, acting as a volunteer for the North Carolina-based National Council on Bible Curriculum in Public Schools, has asked the board to approve a social studies elective class that uses the Bible to explain the country's history, literature and culture. That creates a dilemma for school officials who recognize the...
