More voters say the Trump administration isn’t doing enough to combat the coronavirus outbreak, according to a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll. The survey, conducted immediately before President Donald Trump announced a 30-day extension of his physical and social distancing guidelines “to slow the spread” of Covid-19, shows 47 percent of voters feel the administration isn’t doing enough in response to the outbreak, greater than the 40 percent who feel the administration is doing the right amount. Two weeks ago, 43 percent said the administration wasn’t doing enough in the days following the initial measures deployed to reduce the impacts of...

White House coronavirus task force member Deborah Birx asks media to stop telling Americans that hospitals are running out of beds and ventilators, when it's not the case Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, is pleading with the media to stop frightening people worldwide with incorrect stories about supply shortages and hospitals enforcing universal "Do Not Resuscitate" orders. "Please, for the reassurance of people across the world ... there is no situation in the United States right now that warrants that kind of discussion right now," Birx said during the task force’s daily White...

TOKYO — Japan had only a few dozen confirmed coronavirus infections when the 30-something nurse with a slight sore throat boarded a bus to Osaka, the country’s third-largest city, to attend a Valentine’s weekend performance by pop bands at a music club. Less than two weeks later, she tested positive for the virus, and the authorities swiftly alerted others who had been at the club. As more infections soon emerged from three other music venues in the city, officials tested concertgoers and their close contacts, and urged others to stay home. All told, 106 cases were linked to the clubs,...

The coronavirus COVID-19 has upended everything, including business as usual in Washington. In a matter of days, facing the reality of a nationwide shutdown and a worsening economic crisis, Congress got serious about spending money—a lot of it. A recovery package in the trillions of dollars is expected soon, and more stimulus bills are likely to follow. While the most powerful lobbies in Washington—the airlines, the oil companies, the chambers of commerce—are ready with their wish lists, the media and policymakers aren’t talking enough about how recovery and stimulus bills could help journalism. Free Press, the independent, nonprofit advocacy organization...

A video posted Monday by the Global Times, a tabloid run by the Communist Party of China, uses footage of numerous American media outlets and Democratic politicians to portray criticism of China's handling of the coronavirus as racist. In addition to citing CNN's Chris Cuomo and NBC's Richard Engel, the video highlights tweets from two-time failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and New York City mayor Bill de Blasio parroting regime talking points. "It is easy to scapegoat people, and that is what has always happened when there have been pandemics or epidemics," Engel says in the clip featured in...

Donald Trump’s first instinct when it came to the coronavirus was to dismiss the threat as overblown, over there, and “totally under control.” His second was to use the pandemic as an opportunity to show off his world-historical leadership skills by treating the virus as a threat on par with World War II. Both reactions were driven by politics, not evidence. The first was unquestionably wrong. The second needs to be questioned aggressively before we impose solutions possibly more destructive than the virus itself

The MSM's treason by any other name or shoddy disguise is still treason - the left is now trying to claim that TRUMP caused the Coronavirus on purpose. On Friday, the Washington Post posted a bizarre and counterfactual story that alleges that Wuhan virus spread into the United States because President Trump ignored warnings from…get this…our intelligence agencies about a pandemic developing in China, a pandemic that was to become the foreign Chinese Wuhan Kung-Flu bat virus pandemic that has panicked us into shutting down the US economy. The bylines are Shane Harris, Greg Miller, Josh Dawsey and Ellen Nakashima. All of these will seem familiar from the Russia Hoax stories that rolled out of the Post like marbles from a bag with holes in it. U.S. intelligence...

They should have a sign at the entrance of the White House Press Room: “Please Check Your Personality Disorder at the Door.”.....Either that or Dante’s epochal “Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate”—“Abandon hope all ye who enter here.” The assorted paleo-virtue signalers and candidates for anger management training that comprise the White House press corps have, as if it were possible, humiliated themselves more than ever, almost beyond recognition. To say they are more interested in scoring points against the president than eliciting information or even improving the precarious health and economic situations of their fellow Americans is close to the...

Yes, emphasize fear. Alexander’s argument (it was not a question) was asked and answered, and still Alexander persisted in grandstanding and nearly heckling the president with the implication the American people should be afraid, that the president was spreading false hope, and that the country would be better off feeling anxious because that would mean Trump will not be reelected. The reason the media and their Never Trump lackeys are covering up the truth is because they know The Truth exposes Alexander as the godless, left-wing hack he is. The reason the media and their Never Trump lackeys are covering...

The Trump press conferences are a problem for the anti-Trump media, because they give Trump direct access to viewers with minimal filtering by the networks. Donald Trump’s daily press conferences, attended by numerous senior health and other officials, are a must-watch. Enormous information is provided by officials, and Trump signals where he thinks the crisis is going. Trump spends an hour or more taking reporter questions, some of which are hostile. The press conferences almost certainly have large audiences, and have contributed to polling that shows strong support among the public for Trump’s handling of the crisis. This is a...

America’s deeply unserious but very corrupt and unreliable establishment media have no intention of changing their dangerous ways in the age of the Wuhan coronavirus. Watching the media spread lies and unnecessary panic over the last few weeks reminds me of the CNN Race Riots of 2014. After the George Zimmerman Hoax failed, after it was discovered that a white man had not hunted down and murdered a black teen (Zimmerman is Hispanic and a jury ruled he killed in self-defense), the fake news media moved on to the Hands-Up-Don’t-Shoot Hoax, which was led primarily by far-left CNN and the...

We've all witnessed the shocking scenes of racists attacking Asian-Americans, accusing them of responsibility for the coronavirus! Oh, wait: we've seen no such thing. But that didn't stop MSNBC political analyst Karine Jean-Pierre of MoveOn.org from spouting off late Monday afternoon that President Trump's referring to the coronavirus as "Chinese virus" was not only racist, but places Asian-American "lives at risk".. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

At least eight New York Times authors shared a deceptively edited quote Monday from President Donald Trump’s recent call with state governors, creating the false impression that the president is denying federal support for ventilators that are needed in hospitals treating coronavirus patients. In his message, the president recommended that states procure respirators and ventilators because it would be faster — but added that the federal government “will be backing you.” The Times journalists omitted the bulk of the president’s statement as they shared the story on social media. The misleading, partial quote was also boosted by a CNN correspondent...

More people will be glued to their television sets as schools and sporting events are being canceled, along with legions of people now being told to work from home. As such, more potential eyeballs could venture into the twisted realms of MSNBC and CNN who are just thirsting for the Wuhan virus death toll to increase and markets to collapse to better the Democrats’ chances of booting Trump from office in 2020. It’s predictable. It’s grotesque. They’ve earned their new title with gusto: enemies of the people. If Trump does anything, it’s terrible. He can’t win—and he knows that, so...

After weeks of stalled testing for the coronavirus, the United States now has enough diagnostic kits to test 75,000 people, with more on the way, Alex M. Azar II, the health and human services secretary, said on Sunday. a person in a blue shirt: A researcher at Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey works in a lab that is developing testing for the coronavirus. The Trump administration has faced widespread criticism for a slow and scattered delivery of testing materials to states, where only 12 labs are capable of diagnosing the virus. Mr. Azar’s announcement, on CBS’s “Face the Nation,”...

So, our Coronavirus Czar is going to be … Mike Pence. Feeling more secure? “I know full well the importance of presidential leadership,” the vice president said as soon as he was introduced in his new role. Totally qualified. First criterion for every job in this administration is capacity for praising the gloriousness of our commander in chief. Yeah, when you think of Mike Pence you maybe don’t think about Pandemic Fighter Supreme. But as President Trump pointed out repeatedly, he has already run Indiana. Well, it probably could have been worse. Having a czar does make you feel there’s...

Jim Acosta calling the president a liar to his face in front of a foreign audience on the basis of nothing is a bad look. He came all the way around the world to make a jerk out of himself. Acosta is a DNC activist. He should no longer consider himself a journalist and should not be called one. What he did today, in a foreign land is tantamount to treason. Today he proved that he is now a journalist again. President Trump fired back at CNN’s Jim Acosta after the reporter accused him of lying. While holding an afternoon...
