  • Could the United States lose the war in Iran? Why one professor thinks it will happen

    > It is obvious I am talking to uneducated children, here.

You talk pretty big for someone who's only been here a little over 3 years. Even in that time one would think you'd learned the rules and some manners.

So you don't like Trump. That's your right. But most folks on this forum are going to disagree with your assessment, so get used to it and stop acting like you're the smartest person in the room. Chances are pretty good you're not.

    Have a great evening.

The author of this article, Brian Linder, "is the trending editor and the retail, restaurant and real estate editor at PennLive.com. "

And whatever PennLive calls "trending," this article is PROMOTION of this "professor" who is in Beijing. Said "professor" studied literature at Yale, worked in journalism, and has been in China since 2008.

His YouTube channel -- @PredictiveHistory -- has been around since Jun 20, 2023. Social Blade estimate of YouTube/AdSense income by day for @predictivehistory.

BUT his other NEW YouTube channel -- @ProfJiangMedia -- dates from 18 December 2025. Social Blade estimate of YouTube/AdSense income by day for @profjiangmedia

He's a literature guy, who's twigged onto portraying a "new" predictor of the future. Like all the others over generations.

That "appearance on 'Breaking Points' the "retail, restaurant and real estate editor" of PennLive mentions is yet another YouTube channel. Run by ex-The Hill couple since 2021.

This is the game of getting clicks, by self-promotion. If “China's Nostradamus” -- yeah, that's the promotion on many sites, these days -- were REALLY smart, he'd be a multimillionaire, not a "content creator" running YouTube channels fo generate clicks and beg for money with "buymeacoffee.com/predictivehistory."

Many Freepers also "predicted" that President Trump would win re-election, and quite a number -- remember McCain's popularizing of "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" long ago? -- thought attacking Iran in some limited fashion was valid. Other threads are busy with various talking heads predictions. Win. Lose. Rather like all the hoopla about the Ukraine-Russia war, now in its fourth year.

My prediction? According to President Trump's National Security Strategy of the United States of America of November 2025, pages 27-28 are likely a better predictor of the next months than some YouTube "content creator" asking to have his viewers "BuyMeACoffee."

"America will always have core interests in ensuring that Gulf energy supplies do not fall into the hands of an outright enemy, that the Strait of Hormuz remain open, that the Red Sea remain navigable, that the region not be an incubator or exporter of terror against American interests or the American homeland, and that Israel remain secure. We can and must address this threat ideologically and militarily without decades of fruitless “nation-building” wars. We also have a clear interest in expanding the Abraham Accords to more nations in the region and to other countries in the Muslim world.

"But the days in which the Middle East dominated American foreign policy in both long-term planning and day-to-day execution are thankfully over—not because the Middle East no longer matters, but because it is no longer the constant irritant, and potential source of imminent catastrophe, that it once was. It is rather emerging as a place of partnership, friendship, and investment—a trend that should be welcomed and encouraged. In fact, President Trump's ability to unite the Arab world at Sharm el-Sheikh in pursuit of peace and normalization will allow the United States to finally prioritize American interests."

    Best wishes.

...................The Norwegian allowed too many Muslims into their world.”

Stupid and infuriating. Spent a great week in Norway a long time ago. Best looking men in the entire universe and they liked me too. Norwegian neighbors when I grew up had a terrific saying,

“Ten thousand Sweedes came through the weeds chased by one Norwegian”

Now the brave Norwegians are being chased by one lousy Muslim? Disgraceful.

There isn't a realistic scenario where we can bomb our way into a US friendly regime change.

We spent years occupying and nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan and couldn't leave with one.

    No regime change, Iran wins.

Meanwhile, we're going to get $5 gasoline and Biden-era inflation and that will allow Democrats to take back the House and Senate, making the American people one of the losers in this unnecessary foreign war.

    Once you're completely ignorant.

The vast majority hate our guts and would rather die that let Trump pick someone to rule over them.

We couldn't even leave Iraq and Afghanistan with a US friendly government. It's insane to think any amount of bombing will result in Iranians allowing Trump installing a leader.

But, you're glad to know while we're destined to suffer $5 a gallon gas and Biden-style inflation over this unnecessary foreign war, Russia is reaping the benefits of higher oil prices.

I recently saw a WW2 vet visit Trump in his office. Guy still looked good at 105. That became my goal because I REALLY LOVE LIVING. Love my bitchy kitty too. Don’t know who else would put up with. her if I croaked.

Then someone told me about another 107 year old woman. Did not have a picture, so I’m not so sure about that. I just want to keep living while life is worth living. Will be 90 in June and I really love my life. BTW, new man just moved into our senior development. He’s quite taken with me, is at least 20 years younger. And another one that age was also attracted. Recently widowed, his daughter thought I was his age, hoped he and I would get together. No thanks.

Stay slim, move well, enjoy life. That’s all it takes. Going to start Pilates (again) next week. I don’t drive any more so the gym is out, but Pilates is very close, can walk over. Another woman I just met today wants to go too, so we’ll have fun.

Russia started becoming an enemy when Putin started following advice from Alexandr Dugin and the book he published in 1997. Read the 22 step bullet pointed plans in the review below of this book. This book is as important as Hitler’s opus Mein Kampf (my struggle) which more people should have read in the 1930s before it was too late to stop him.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foundations_of_Geopolitics

Now let’s check AI’s opinion of this book:
    “AI Overview
==Foundations of Geopolitics: The Geopolitical Future of Russia (Russian: Osnovy geopolitiki: Geopoliticheskoe budushchee Rossii), published in 1997, is a major work by Aleksandr Dugin that outlines a strategy for reasserting Russian influence through a Eurasian empire. The book, which is reportedly used as a textbook in Russian military academies, argues for a “continental Russian–Islamic alliance” to counter American and Atlanticist influence.

    Key Aspects of the Book:
—Geopolitical Strategy: Dugin advocates for a “common enemy” approach, focusing on the destruction of Atlanticism, US strategic control, and the rejection of liberal values.
—Global Restructuring: The text proposes a “confederation of large spaces” where Russia, Germany, Japan, and Iran form a strategic alliance to oppose the maritime, or “thalassocratic,” powers of the US and Britain.
—Territorial Rearrangement: The book calls for the neutralization or annexation of Ukraine, the incorporation of Finland into the Russian sphere, and the fragmentation of the UK.
—Ideological Basis: It is characterized as a form of neo-Eurasianism, with critics describing it as a fascist or totalitarian ideology designed to create a Russian-dominated empire.

    Reception and Influence:
—In Russia: The book was well-received in Russian political and military circles upon its release, leading to Dugin’s increased prominence as an influential figure.
—International View: The book has been noted for outlining strategies similar to those implemented in 21st-century Russian foreign policy, including the 2014 annexation of Crimea and the 2022 invasion of Ukraine.”

By 2014 when Putin invaded Crimea and sent his “little Green Men” into Eastern Ukraine, Dugin was being called “Putin’s Brain. Dugin still makes regular suggestions to Putin regarding steps he should take to achieve the common objective. Lately Dugin has been saying this war could last 10 to 15 more years, and Russians should be happy to die for the country as they will go straight to Heaven.

US and Western diplomats may have thought slowing NATO’s move east might not be needed or a good idea. There was not enough understanding of the absolute antipathy of the Baltic countries and other former Russian subjects to ever being under the Russian heel again, thus NATO expanded very quickly to Putin’s great consternation. Personally, I don’t believe anyone was thinking about invading Russia, and what we are seeing now is Putin’s expanded ego, eager to top the exploits of Peter the Great, Ivan the Terrible, and Catherine the Great. So far he is doing a good job of mirroring Ivan. Too bad there is not much Great.

oh, by the way, the superintendent said that they take things like this very seriously. I wish they would take educating their students seriously

The crazy thing is, it doesn't look like a terrible school despite being 64% black and 20% Hispanic.

Merrillville Intermediate gets a 7/10 on the greatschools website.

Maybe this school has high standards? Maybe this teacher contributed to these high standards? Maybe the NAACP needs to STFU.

AT&T has a virtual monopoly. While ATT was my provider my phone’s hotspot function worked great and I could use my laptop for most of my posts. When I switched providers using the exact same phone the hotspot stopped working. I’ve since learned how to do most of my posts using my phone itself. You can’t just jailbreak the phone and fix the software issue. AT&T has special software to detect that sort of thing. I also know that because I use to troubleshoot customer problems for AT&T.
