Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was rushed to hospital with critical injuries in Indianapolis on Saturday morning after allegedly being stabbed in the chest during a dispute with a food delivery driver. Police were called to downtown Indianapolis at around 12:30am following reports of a disturbance before finding two injured people, one of whom was Sanchez. The 38-year-old, who was in town to cover Sunday's NFL game between the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders as a commentator for Fox Sports, is now recovering at a local hospital in 'stable' condition, the network has announced.

The Trump administration plans to federalize 300 members of the Illinois National Guard, Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker says. Pritzker, who called the move “absolutely outrageous and un-American,” said the Illinois National Guard received word from the Pentagon on Saturday morning that the troops would be called up. He did not specify when or where they would be deployed, but President Donald Trump has long threatened to send troops into Chicago.

U.S. Border Patrol agents shot a woman in Chicago Saturday after an angry mob apparently tried to attack the law enforcement officers. The gunfire erupted after a group of agents were “rammed in by 10 cars” and “boxed in” while patrolling the city’s South Side, Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told the Chicago Sun-Times. The agents fired “defensive shots,” then discovered the woman, who was driving in a vehicle, “was armed with a semi-automatic weapon,” McLaughlin told the outlet.

Former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was stabbed during a brawl outside an Indianapolis bar Saturday morning, authorities said. Sanchez, 38, an analyst for Fox Sports who was in the city to broadcast the Colts’ game against the Raiders Sunday, was in stable condition after being rushed to a local hospital, the network said in a statement. The violence erupted after Sanchez and another man got into a squabble after midnight outside Loughmiller’s in downtown Indianapolis, cops said. Police responded around 12:30 a.m. to a report of one man suffering stab wounds — later confirmed to be Sanchez — and another...

Robert Preston Morris, 64, appeared in court today in front of Osage County District Special Judge Cindy Pickerill. Morris, who resigned last summer as senior pastor of Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, was indicted by a Multi-County Grand Jury earlier this year. The abuse began in December 1982 when Morris was a traveling evangelist visiting the family of the victim in Hominy. The victim was 12 years old at the time,...

Donald Trump had a warning to Democrats. Soon he will decide what "Democrat agencies" he would cut and whether those reductions would be temporary or permanent. He said the government shutdown, which began on Tuesday, had afforded him an "unprecedented opportunity". "I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 Fame," he posted on his Truth Social website on Thursday morning. Vought, the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, may not be a household name. But Project 2025, a conservative blueprint for governing put together primarily by former Trump officials like Vought when...

SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was taken into custody and arrested after she allegedly sexually assaulted a Delta employee on a flight out of Salt Lake City International Airport. Cody Sierra Marie Bryne, 31, faces numerous charges, including Sexual Battery, Assault and Public Intoxication. Bryne was boarding a flight from Salt Lake City to Portland on Wednesday when she refused to move from the aisle of the airplane after being directed to do so multiple times. Explanation: The Horsehead Nebula is one of the most famous nebulae on the sky. It is visible as the dark indentation to the red emission nebula in the center of the above photograph. The horse-head feature is dark because it is really an opaque dust cloud that lies in front of the bright red emission nebula. Like clouds in Earth's atmosphere, this cosmic cloud has assumed a recognizable shape by chance. After many thousands of years, the internal motions of the cloud will alter its appearance. The emission nebula's red color is caused by electrons recombining with protons to form...

For months, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour government has been under intense pressure from scores of its own members to demonstrate more robust support for Palestinians, especially in Gaza. But a terrorist attack at a synagogue on Thursday in Manchester, England, which led to the deaths of two people during prayer services on Yom Kippur, exposed a competing political reality for Mr. Starmer: the growing anger among Jews in Britain who believe his government is doing far too little to protect them from hate and antisemitism. The police have said the synagogue attack was carried out by Jihad al-Shamie, a...

The Supreme Court on Friday for a second time allowed President Donald Trump to strip temporary deportation protections from 300,000 Venezuelans, handing the administration another win in its effort to rapidly remove non-citizens from the United States. In a brief order, and over the dissent of the court’s three liberals, a majority of the justices ruled that the administration could move forward with its plans to end a form of humanitarian relief known as Temporary Protected Status for the Venezuelans – a move that will make them more vulnerable to deportation. The Trump administration asked the justices earlier this month...

By Dr. John BergsmaOur readings this week take up the theme of faith, both Israel’s faith under the old covenant and the faith to which we are called in the new. Jesus urges us not to despair even if we feel our faith is pitiful. God can work wonders using small material. 1. Our First Reading is a famous passage from Habakkuk: Habakkuk 1:2-3; 2:2-4: How long, O LORD? I cry for help but you do not listen! I cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not intervene. Why do you let me see ruin; why must I look...

The story of John Chapman is officially coming to the big screen. Chapman is one of the biggest legends in the history of the United States military. The Air Force 24th STS (a Tier One unit) CCT was killed during the Battle of Takur Ghar in March 2002. All hell broke loose on a mountain during Operation Anaconda, and the SEAL Team 6 team Chapman was attached to retreated under heavy enemy fire. Chapman was left alone without backup or help. He fought to the brutal and bloody end, engaging enemy fighters before eventually dying from his wounds. The elite...

Little kids line up in white graduation caps and gowns. Family members pose for formal photos at a wedding. Cousins laugh as they cut into the frosting of a giant birthday cake. These scenes from Amar Shah’s childhood flash across the screen in a new film. And they share something in common. All the photos were taken at motels owned by Indian immigrant families. Shah grew up in that world. His parents were in the gas station business. Family members and close friends owned motels. But Shah didn’t want to follow in their footsteps. “I saw it as rough, blue-collar...
