A recent meeting of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Science Advisory Board (SAB) to discuss PFAS in drinking water has brought this ongoing public health debate into renewed focus once again. It is part of a broader effort by the Biden Administration and Congress to regulate all PFAS chemicals out of existence and such a de-facto blanket ban could ultimately harm the overall well-being of the American people. Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, or PFAS, are a group of over 5,000 man-made identified fluorinated compounds. Produced since the 1940s, they function as an effective repellant and because of this capability PFAS have been...

By now, you’ve become familiar with automatic mail ballots. You also probably are familiar with election officials suspending the statutory rules governing elections in 2020 as they did in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and elsewhere. If you really get around, then you’ve come across Zuckbucks, the nearly half-billion dollars that came from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and went into government election offices in urban cores to create turnout machines for Joe Biden. But you might not have met ERIC. ERIC isn’t a person. ERIC stands for the Electronic Registration and Information Center. ERIC is an entity that has more to do with...

WASHINGTON, Sunday, Dec. 22. The Government to-day received intelligence brought by the last steamer from Europe, from Gen. SCOTT, stating that he intended to take passage in the next steamer for the United States. The General does not state the object of his return, but he undoubtedly brings information to our Government of important movements abroad. It must be a serious matter, or Gen. SCOTT would not return so speedily, for it is well known that he had made arrangements to be absent a long time. A gentleman occupying a high position in Paris writing to a friend in this...

For many of us, Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is special for old and young. As Charles Dickens once observed, “For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when its mighty Founder was a child Himself.” Several American presidents have made interesting observations about Christmas. John Calvin Coolidge, our 30thpresident, was a man of few words. Henoted, “Christmas is not a time nor season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we...

The U.S. Navy said it seized a large cache of assault rifles and ammunition being smuggled by a fishing ship from Iran likely bound for war-ravaged Yemen. U.S. Navy patrol ships discovered the weapons aboard what the Navy described as a stateless fishing vessel in an operation that began on Monday in the northern reaches of the Arabian Sea off Oman and Pakistan. Sailors boarded the vessel and found 1,400 Kalashnikov-style rifles and 226,600 rounds of ammunition, as well five Yemeni crew members.

China’s state-run Global Times on Tuesday threw cold water on World Health Organization (W.H.O.) director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus’ hope that “2022 must be the year we end the pandemic.” The Chinese propaganda paper emailed Tedros’ office to ask for specific details of W.H.O.’s plan to end the pandemic and reported no details were forthcoming. Communist China risibly claims to have ended the pandemic within its borders over a year ago – all of its coronavirus outbreaks since then were supposedly caused by visiting foreigners, including the one that currently has 13 million people under lockdown in the city of Xi’an....

When people criticize Dr. Anthony Fauci, he says: "They're really criticizing science. Because I represent science." Pretty arrogant. I assume Fauci is a top-notch scientist. My brother worked with him at the National Institutes of Health and respected him. But power tends to corrupt, and Fauci has been given a lot of power. His department directed tax dollars to the Wuhan Institute of Virology to modify coronaviruses in bats. When Sen. Rand Paul (R–Ky.) asked Fauci about funding "gain of function" research, experiments that try to learn more about a disease by making it more contagious or deadly, Fauci denied...

History has shown us that collectivism detests the individual. The man who can exist independent of the system, who thinks for himself, who is not easily swayed, and who has values rooted in absolute truth which he refuses to give up – this is the enemy of collectivism. But if we take a closer look at one aspect of the individual – his ability to exist independent of the system – is it not clear this is an end goal of prepping? Is that not what a prepper strives for – the ability to exist independent of the world around...

COVID-19 burst on the scene early in 2020 and rapidly became the biggest story of the year. We saw pictures of freezer trucks being used as morgues and medical staff in hazmat suits. The 2011 movie Contagion hung over every head like the Sword of Damocles. As the movie subtitle says, “Nothing Spreads Like Fear.” In a desperate rush for ratings, each network pushed more and more sensational stories, and kept the death count on chyrons so we would never be far from panic even when discussing a politician’s latest gaffe or the price of food. As soon as Sleepy...

Weren’t we just talking about Sweden’s Gävle goat aka Gävlebocken 2 weeks ago? Why, yes, we were.Unfortunately, Sweden's giant straw yule goat is like catnip for arsonists; it’s been torched again. The Gävle Goat spokesperson says she doesn't understand why people want to destroy it. I see her point, BLM doesn’t even have a field office in Gävle. A lot of people just shrug it off as part of the tradition. Socialists - of all colors and stripes – do seem to enjoy destroying tradition.Appropriately enough, this defaced statue stood in Druid ParkThe problem might be the Swedes commitment to...

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), at the behest of the Biden Administration, approved two major solar projects at a Riverside County site on Tuesday, with a third likely to be approved soon. Both California and the federal government have pushed for more renewable and carbon-free energy sources in California in recent years. President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order earlier this year pushing for 25 gigawatts of onshore renewable energy by 2025, setting a goal of creating a carbon pollution free energy sector by 2035. California has also set lofty renewable energy goals, such as having a 100% carbon-free...
