President Biden missed his Independence Day target of getting first shots into the arms of 70 percent of American adults. If he wants to convince the vaccine-hesitant to get immunized — especially vaccine-hesitant Republicans — there is a simple way to do so: Give Donald Trump the credit he deserves for the vaccines. Former presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter were all invited to record public service ads urging Americans to get vaccinated. The only former president not included was the one whose voice could have made the biggest difference — Trump. This makes no...

The Olympics are upon us and we will see nationalism to its upmost. So, what happens with the “USA Sucks” crowd? The athletes who have been poisoned in Anti-Americanism are a lost cause. Despite the fact that they are paid to compete for a country that they think they hate, they accept the money and run (or swim, or whatever) for The United States of America. I am interested in seeing middle America’s reaction. Does our majority encourage wokery? Do we turn our backs on our misguided competitors? Or do we root for America to win no matter the means?...

On this date in 1916, the Austro-Hungarian empire executed Cesare Battisti and Fabio Filzi for treasonous Italian nationalism. It was the multiethnic Habsburg state that was itself dying of its constituents’ national aspirations; in little more than two years, the state entity that carried out this day’s sentences would no longer exist at all. Pre-World War I, Battisti (English Wikipedia entry | Italian) was actually a Socialist representative in the Austrian parliament. When the unpleasantness broke out, though, he made a break for the peninsula where he agitated* (successfully) for Italian entry into the fray against Austria-Hungary. Irredentists had long...

“The Kepler and K2 missions just keep on giving!” Harvard astrophysicist, David Latham told The Daily Galaxy. “Operations ended more than three years ago when the spacecraft ran out of fuel, but we continue to mine the data archives for celestial gems.” “We know the spacecraft’s retirement isn’t the end of Kepler’s discoveries,” said Jessie Dotson, Kepler’s project scientist at NASA’s Ames Research Center in California’s Silicon Valley. “I’m excited about the diverse discoveries that are yet to come from our data and how future missions will build upon Kepler’s results.” “The Search for Planets is the Search for Life”...

President Joe Biden’s top medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said there should be more COVID-19 vaccine mandates at the local level. “I have been of this opinion, and I remain of that opinion, that I do believe at the local level, Jake, there should be more mandates,” Fauci, who has become perhaps the federal government’s public face regarding its COVID-19 response, told CNN on Sunday in reference to vaccine mandates. “There really should be. We’re talking about [a] life-and-death situation. We’ve lost 600,000 Americans already, and we’re still losing more people.” Fauci then said that if the Food and Drug...

The city’s public housing authority has long insisted that weak air circulation inside aging apartments did not contribute to the spread of COVID-19 among tenants during the pandemic’s peak last year. We’re at war over Critical Race Theory. That seems a reasonable conclusion, as forces presently fight for and against the ideology. While legislatures move to ban CRT, academia and industry are increasingly embracing it (see “College President Claims ‘Critical Race Theory Is the New Communism,’ Means It as a Compliment“)Such is certainly the case at Columbia University, where the school’s president finds the doctrine not only alright, but “necessary.”And not only that, but “urgent.”For a July 1st CRT article, Columbia News interviewed law school instructors, as well as the college’s Big Cheese, Lee C. As we previously reported there are thousands out in the streets across Cuba, from small towns to big cities, calling for freedom from the Communist government and chanting “we are not afraid!”People are saying it’s the largest mass protest since 1959. If you know your Cuban history, that’s the last time the government changed hands — when Fidel Castro took power.
