It wouldn't be so dangerous if they, you know, (a) bothered to ensure they were at the right address, (b) weren't always in "out to get you"/"you're just a perp we haven't caught yet" modes, (c) DIDN'T LIE ON THE WITNESS STAND, (d) didn't tolerate those that do.
A good example is the rise in SWAT usage — is there something wrong with "old fashioned"/boring detective work? What about "waiting him out" tactics?

Statistically truck drivers have a much more dangerous job. Using their reasoning truckers should use Hellfire missiles to insure they get home safely at night.
The sooner all government workers are replaced with robots the better. A robot doesn't have a life to lose so cannot legally open fire indiscriminately. Robots can capture suspects with a net.
