I saw someone here kinda mention this: Compare Trump ' s ascendancy to that of the Governator several years ago. Since
his governorship didn't turn out too well, could we be seeing the same thing happen again on a national scale? What say you?

Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) said in a new interview that he would run for president in 2024, and win, if he was eligible. “Yes,
of course,” Schwarzenegger told CNN’s Chris Wallace, when asked whether he would run if the Constitution did not require that the president be a natural born U.S. citizen. “I mean, I think the field was wide open in 2016, and I think the field is open right now,” the Austrian-born actor added. Schwarzenegger’s interview with Wallace, which is set to air on Friday, was first obtained by People Magazine.

Trump vs. Schwarzenegger

none | Today | Me
Looking at the Trumpsters of today, I am reminded of the rabid Schwarzenegger supporters of yesteryear. Not
caring about conservatism, not giving a damn about principles, not caring one bit about anything but winning. Perhaps a few of a Schwarzeneggerites would like to comment about how all of that worked out.

he year was 1990 and Republican U.S. Sen. Pete Wilson claimed his first term as California governor, replacing another Republican, George Deukmejian. Two years earlier, California voters helped send George H.W. Bush to the White House with a 3.6-point win over Democrat Michael Dukakis. Nearly three decades later, so much has changed.
Democrats have monopolized California government, with the party holding every statewide office and dominating both chambers of the Legislature. Bush was the last Republican to win a presidential contest in the state. President Donald Trump lost California by over 4 million votes to Hillary Clinton.

AUSTIN, Texas — Arnold Schwarzenegger’s next mission: taking oil companies to court “for knowingly killing people all over the world.” The
former California governor and global environmental activist announced the move Sunday at a live recording of POLITICO’s Off Message podcast, recording here at the SXSW festival, revealing that he’s in talks with several private law firms and preparing a public push around the effort. “This is no different from the smoking issue. The tobacco industry knew for years and years and years and decades, that smoking would kill people, would harm people and create cancer, and were hiding that...

In another jab to President Trump's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) head, actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) labeled Scott Pruitt the worst EPA administrator of all time. "I
pay no attention to what he says. He cannot be taken seriously," Schwarzenegger said at the R20 Austrian World Summit, an annual climate conference he hosts in his home country. "He's the worst Environmental secretary that we have ever had." Schwarzenegger went on to criticize Pruitt for his ties to oil and gas companies. “He's doing the bidding for the oil companies and the coal companies," the 70-year-old Republican told...

Arnold Schwarzenegger has four Hummers and likes nothing better than getting up at 5am to ride his Harley Davidson to the beach for breakfast. Yet
"The Terminator" star insists that should not stop him being an environmental evangelist. "Saving the planet is also about technology," the former California governor told AFP, putting his foot on a chair and wagging a skull-ringed finger to make his point. Three of his Hummers run on hydrogen, vegetable oil and bio-diesel and he's hoping to put an electric engine into the fourth. "You know one day soon we are going to have hydrogen-fuelled planes....

Arnold Schwarzenegger has shot down a move inside the GOP to get the former California Governor to make a run for U.S. Senate. Arnold just said, "I'm deeply flattered by all of the people who have approached me about running for Senate, but my mission right now is to bring sanity to
Washington through redistricting reform like we passed here in California." Schwarzenegger, the former "Celebrity Apprentice" host, and the former-former host, Donald Trump, have been going at each other for weeks, and a Schwarzenegger run would put Trump in an awkward position. The senator he would have run against,...

In Hollywood, there's no better magnet for stargazing than a movie premiere. So
on a Sunday afternoon in late June, the summer sun couldn't keep thousands of fans from lining Hollywood Boulevard, hoping to spot a star. This was the "Terminator Genisys" premiere, and only one star mattered: Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former governor of California shook hands, signed autographs and posed for selfies. It's the kind of personal attention Fred and Kathy Santos wish they could get from Schwarzenegger, who they say stole justice from their dead son.

“It’s about time,” he tweeted of Pruitt’s departure. “He

In an interview with POLITICO Thursday, Schwarzenegger warned that Andrew Wheeler, who will replace Pruitt as acting director, is “the wrong guy” to protect Americans’ health and environment. “If you want to really do a good job with the environment, you don’t have...

Trump and Schwarzenegger: A political comparison

Donald Trump's visit to the Iowa State Fair was a spectacle... Rob Stutzman...witnessed the scene and experienced flashbacks to the hordes his client, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, encountered during his unlikely bid for California governor during the 2003 recall election. "It's
celebrity appeal," Stutzman said. "Both of them are very skilled at using their celebrity to attract public and media attention," They are wealthy celebrities, so universally branded that they are known by their first names. Schwarzenegger and Trump have a flair for theatrics that play well on the evening news. Some examples: Schwarzenegger dropped a 3,600-pound wrecking ball on an...

Pay higher taxes. Watch Rachel Maddow. Colonoscopy. See Trump naked. These
are things on the list of stuff I would rather do than have Arnold Schwarzenegger as a US Senator. It was reported today in Politico that the Former-Governor of the Golden State is being considered as a viable candidate to run for Senate for the projected-vacant seat of Dianne Feinstein. Feinstein will be 38,324 years old in 2018 (kidding, she will be 85), is expected to retire. With Trump in the White House, no democrat is looking forward to the prospect of sitting in a minority party seat in...
