U.S. and Royal Canadian air force fighter jets on Monday intercepted two Russian reconnaissance aircraft north of Alaska, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) announced on Tuesday. The U.S. F-22 Raptors and Canadian CF-18 Hornets “intercepted two Russian Tu-142 maritime reconnaissance aircraft entering the Alaskan Air Defense Identification Zone,” NORAD said over multiple posts to Twitter. The fighters – supported by an E-3 Sentry Airborne Warning And Control System and a KC-135 Stratotanker – escorted the Russian planes for the four hours they remained in the zone, which extends 200 miles off Alaska's coast. NORAD said the Russian aircraft remained...

The incident occurred just a day after four nuclear-capable Russian bombers and two Russian fighter jets were intercepted off the west coast of Alaska by U.S. aircraft.NORAD said Monday that its...

As a result, the Russian aircraft remained in international airspace. A Russian Su-27 fighter jet performed an "unprofessional" intercept of a U.S. Navy P-8 surveillance plane while it was flying in international airspace over the Baltic Sea Tuesday, two defense officials told CNN. The Russian jet came within about 20 feet of the U.S. aircraft, one official said, adding that the encounter lasted about nine minutes. The intercept was described by officials as safe but unprofessional, though a U.S. Navy official told CNN that the Navy does not officially classify aerial encounters that way. The Navy classifies aviation intercepts simply as either safe or unsafe.....

According to the Pentagon, the Russian fighter swooped in to follow the U.S. aircraft while in international airspace—an acceptable precaution after identifying a foreign jet, even though the P-8A had its transponders on. However the Russian jet crossed in front of the U.S. plane from right to left, the Pentagon told CNN, engaging its afterburners, thereby prompting the U.S. Poseidon to spanner into "a 15-degree roll and violent turbulence." The Russian military subsequently confirmed that the intercept over international waters did take place but did not address the accusation that the maneuver was unsafe or reveal other details about the...

There is now an Iranian base very near Damascus, and a Russian-made drone has been intercepted by Israel. Also, there have been attempts to blame Israel for much of what is happening in the last few days, so that Israel's enemies can go forward knowing that Israel must be extra cautious in order not to get blamed in world opinion.Listen carefully and use Amir's knowledge to help you filter the news reports. As always, occupy until He comes, watchmen.

Russia’s ambassador to Washington told his superiors in Moscow that he discussed campaign-related matters, including policy issues important to Moscow, with Jeff Sessions during the 2016 presidential race, contrary to public assertions by the embattled attorney general, according to current and former U.S. officials. Ambassador Sergey Kislyak’s accounts of two conversations with Sessions — then a top foreign policy adviser to Republican candidate Donald Trump — were intercepted by U.S. spy agencies, which monitor the communications of senior Russian officials both in the United States and in Russia. Sessions initially failed to disclose his contacts with Kislyak and then said...

"On Jan. 25 an RC-135 aircraft flying a routine route in international airspace over the Black Sea was intercepted by a Russian Su-27 in an unsafe and unprofessional manner," Navy Capt. Russian fighter jets shadowed U.S. predator drones on at least three separate occasions high above Syria since the start of Russia’s air campaign last week, according to two U.S. officials briefed on this latest intelligence from the region. “The first time it happened, we thought the Russians got lucky. Then it happened two more times,” said one official. Both officials said that the incidents took place over ISIS-controlled Syria, including its de facto headquarters in Raqqa, as well as along the Turkish-Syrian border near Korbani. Another occurred in the northwest, near the highly contested city of Aleppo.
