I am perfectly willing to discuss, and to be told I'm wrong, to be SHOWN why I'm wrong.
I'm not willing to deal with pointless flames, lies and distortions of our doctrines or the teachings of our leaders.
It is possible to respectfully disagree, even on something as fundamentally divisive as religion.
I'm not even asking that you respect my views, inwardly, but just show a modicum of decency, outwardly.

Show me where I'm in error. If "pet to owner" sounds too sarcastic, then give me another analogy.
From what I can see, many sectarian christians see us as beings created with intelligence, with presumably infinite ability to learn and to grow and to accumulate knowledge, to understand the nature of our Creator, yet with no clear purpose in the universe other than to "glorify God."
I ask "how then do you glorify God?" What is our role and our relationship to him?
If you are a Calvinist (which I understand represents a minority view among the christian sects) you believe the fix is in a priori, and thus I am left even FURTHER in the dark as to what our purpose is.
Why were we created? How am I to regard this god you paint, as anything but arbitrary and capricious, when he apparently creates intelligent beings most of whom have no purpose other than to roast in flames for eternity?
Please help me understand your views in this regard, because, frankly, "pet to owner" sounds a far more gentle relationship than some analogies I could draw!

If you are a Calvinist... ~ Illbay
I don't think that P-Marlowe is ready to embrace the truth of Calvinism yet. But, we have hope for him.

youre religion looks somewhat denigrated P-marlowe Coming from SickBay, that is a compliment. I wear any denigration from people like that as a badge of honor. Bring it on, SickBay.

"Get whipped on one thread, bail, and start another....Not to mention falling back on the usual Mormon tactic of whining about being "victims" of "bashing" when confronted with evidence proving the cultic nature of Mormonism, so they can get the thread deleted.

To: Revelation 911 I am perfectly willing to discuss, and to be told I'm wrong, to be SHOWN why I'm wrong.Really???
Only after I'd posted the verbatim quotes from Brigham Young 5 times, saying there were certain sins that the Blood of Jesus could NOT cover, and your vehemently saying that was a "lie" and BY never said such, did you finally agree that BY did say that, and you agreed with BY, but only after bashing me time and time again, along with a couple other Mormons.

Brigham Young quotes again:
Discourses of Brigham Young, p.385
"There is not a man or woman, who violates the covenants made with their God, that will not be required to pay the debt. The blood of Christ will never wipe that out, your own blood must atone for it; and the judgments of the Almighty will come, sooner or later, and every man and woman will have to atone for breaking their covenants. 3:247.
